Hey all i just wanted to ask a question to all members but first i want to say im so happy that this is something sarcasticgamer and other gamers are taking part in! Im going to get my family to try and donate too since this is a cause close to home, I have Hodgkin Lymphoma (in remission now) but its sad to see so many little children who have no idea why they have to take so much medicine.

But my question to you guys is how many other gamers are there out there who also share a close to home experience?

Also want to say once again this is a great cause!

For me 2009 has been a year where every day I am faced with someone close to me fighting Cancer.

Last June (2008), my brother's long-term girlfriend was told that her father had 6 months to live because his Cancer was so far advanced. He is still fighting today, but showing little improvement.

In January, I found out that one of my coworkers was diagnosed with Cancer in his lymphatic system. After many painful surgeries and radiation therapy, I attended his funeral last week.

In February, 5 days after the birth of my son, we found out that my wife's grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Today, she is in remission, and doing better day by day. There is still a battle ahead for her, but she is doing better.

And lastly in March, my Grandfather was diagnosed with bone cancer. It took only 3 months for the Cancer to take him, and he passed away in June.

So, as you can see I have a lot of reasons to participate in this year's Extra Life. Hopefully there won't be the need for many more of these, but I will be taking part as long as there is.

Im sorry for all that you have endured so far, my aunt also suffered from breast cancer. And my heart goes out to you and your family and i hope the rest of your years are free from anyone else having an illness

I've had family members who've passed from cancer (sadface), thankfully I don't have it.. *crosses fingers* Although to a point, i can understand some of the hardships having dealt with other serious medical issues since I was 11/12.

I'm glad you are in remission WetMouse (ps. LOVE IT), hopefully it says that way. It's always sad to hear of such stories.
