I myself am not participating in Extra Life. I would but I don't have the time to play video games for 24 hours straight, but I do have some tips from when I did.

1. Start off slow, play something that will get you addicted, but at the same time is fun... a perfect example would be Tetris or Dr. Mario.

2. Keep yourself awake, play an action game.

3. DON'T PLAY A FIRST PERSON SHOOTER! - IT WILL MAKE YOU DROWSY!

4. DON'T PLAY A PUZZLE GAME! - IT WILL MAKE YOU DROWSY!

5. Other good games to play would be rhythm games like PaRappa the Rapper, Guitar Hero, or Rock Band.

6. DON'T DRINK SOFT DRINKS WHILE PLAYING! It will only make you more drowsy. Try drinking coffee, black with nothing in it at all. Remember sugar will make you crash.

7. Don't look at the clock... if you can help it.

That's pretty much it. If you start feeling drowsy then go back over Tetris again. I hope this helps some people. Please be aware, this is what i'd do, so don't feel obliged to listen to this.

Wait, what?

I get very very very sleepy while playing first person shooters, especially the Call of Duty games. Probably because I get annoyed with the constant swarm of people killing me with stopping power.

Either way, I did mention you don't have to listen to me so feel obliged to ignore that one. :cool2:

Everything I agree with, except 3. I think shooters are all I'm going to be playing.
