I just got my last new OXM in the mail today and on the cover is Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
I must admit, I've been so busy will all the great games that have recently been released,
and was not aware of the announcement of the game on November 20th.

I have not read the article yet but I checked the bullet points and came across some info about the
Multi Player aspect of the new game that I thought I'd pass on.
Might be late on this, but I don't recall seeing anything about R6V2 on here yet.

According to OXM There are some new things being added to the multi player.
• 11 new weapons, including, according to designer Philippe Therien,
"stuff that real soldiers asked for."
One of those is definitely and M16-equivalent.

• 11 total maps, including some "classic" levels that date back as far as the 2003's
Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield expansion Pack for PC.

• 2 new game modes.

• A new online-match search engine.

• The ability to join games in progress.

• An improved Terrorist Hunt mode: player respawns are available
and terrorists will spawn more fairly
(read: they won't pop in right behind you).

• You can now invite friends into ranked sessions online.

The article says that in the single player campaign there is jump in/jump out co-op play too,

Read some other details on the internetz, such as smarter AI, 13 total maps (although 3 are from Vegas 1), PEC for Single-Player, full co-op campaign play (your co-op partner comes in as the 4th team member, real-time), the 2 new game modes are basically variants of the ancient Bomb and Pilot modes, and other stuff that I forgot.

Looks like a decent semi-sequel. And it comes soon, too :D

Even though it's in Vegas again, we won't see a bunch of Casinos.
They will be outside quite a bit even in residential areas and all around Vegas.
Maybe they'll head to Reno and fight it out with Lt. Dangle (Reno 911).

Yeah, they took a lot of stuff from CoD4 this time around.

Still, I'll most likely pick this up anyways because with sprint, (hopefully) less glitches, and actually new maps (Mansion map from Raven Shield FTFW!) and weapons. I played R6:V to death, but this is enough to keep me going, SO LONG as they actually make sure there are very few glitches and that they actually patch them if there are.

I love me some CoD4, but I'll pick this up. Nothing beats Vegas for customizable weapons,armor,etc...

I would actually prefer CallOf6ModernVegasWarfare4Rainbow, but that's just my opinion.

Seriously, though, I loved both games, so a mix of the two is by no means bad, so long as they get it right (*cough* no glitches *cough*).

It's gonna take forever again to get up to Elite in R6V2, but I'll enjoy every moment :D

I usually paired up with one of my friends - which meant if we wanted to play in a big game, we would either have to host and wait for a big enough party, or join one and invite the other in (which always seemed to be at them exact moment a 20 min game started, so one of us was waiting for it to finish).

I would prefer a COD4/H3 system.

I never played the last R6V but I have developed a new interest for realistic shooters (COD4) Ill be certain to keep and eye out for this game.

I think I spent more time playing Rainbow Six Vegas than studying in College.
Then again I was an art student :)

i think borrowing other games ideas is a form of flattery. games have been doing this since there has been games. its the theory of evolution and we should all embrace it with open arms

i just hope the frame rate is up to par on vegas 2 because i dont think rsv was at 60 fps

I'm most looking forward to the SP game actually. Vegas on Elite was superb fun. Just the right amount of asswhooping to never be impossible but would damn well sure make you work for your victory.

I loved Vegas and I am sure that I will likely love Vegas 2 just as much. The only real question is whether or not Vegas 2 will have awesome enough multiplayer to drag me away from CoD4 long enough to really appreciate it.

I use GameFly already, and they're getting here in about 2 days these days. So I'm not sure if I should take advantage of their Keep It savings from GF (and the fact I'm already paying for the service).
I would try and stay patient for shipping, but the MLG map sounds like it could be fun.

I look forward to playing this game even more after watching this. Apparently, the co-op mode is done in the Gears of War way, i.e. one player can flank the enemy while the other attacks from the front. I love that.

I m really looking forward to to this game. I don't think it will be anywhere near as good as COD4 in graphics, but i think the other things (eg. cover system and character customization) will make up for it.

Well the appeal to me is the fact that it is more tactical and somehow cooler. Repelling down buildings and smashing through the class or yet another Martyrdom death?

I'm excited about this, but I'm also kind of pissed. I think this game is going to outdo and kill CoD 4 because they're a lot of the same and I can't afford it yet.:sad:

What annoys me about Vegas 2 is how overhyped it's been in the past month or so. IGN has a dedicated Launch Center for the game, as does Yahoo Games, there's a Collector's Edition, and so on. It's really just a glorified expansion and minor improvements pack, as GRAW 2 was to GRAW. That's not to say I'm not excited for it; it seems to be (almost) everything I wanted Vegas 1 to be. It just pisses me off that it's being taken as a full-blown game as Vegas 1 was, although I suppose that with the overwhelming success of the first game, Ubi figured they may as well market the hell out of Vegas 2 (I can almost guarantee there'll be a TV ad for it). I'm looking forward to the game, but it is majorly overhyped.

Tried it properly today. (Read the mini review on the lobby somewhere (UK gamers I think)) Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a modded expansion pack of Rainbow Six Vegas 1. It is OK. Not great. A rent at most.

I cannot wait for this game! To me, this game is a buy, if only for the multiplayer. This series is by far my favorite shooter.

I spent about an hour doing Face Scan - kept having problems with the profile picture for some reason.:huh:
And I'm not even through the 1st mission yet, because I keep having to answer "How'd you get that already?" from people on my friends list. I don't know why but Chicago seems to have gotten the game a day early. :tongue:

Anyone else getting the right blade popping out with the Dirty Disc Error?
I've had 3 so far, the 1st time was the very 1st time I popped it in the disc tray.
The last time I was playing the game in the Rec Center's single player mission. I gave my guys an order, then BOOM, Dirty Disc.

Might just be my 360, but I'm not sure since MartinBlank2007 was telling me he had frame rate slow down last night in that mission on his 360, which he just got back from Texas last week.

Ive had 2 disc read errors today. But they were spaced out over a few hours, and it was ok the second time around since I was done playing for the time being anyway.

Meh. I just played it for a bit. I don't see why you guys like this so much. It seems like playing COD4 on hardcore with a graphic down grade. I might keep it just to play gamer nights but other that that I was not thrilled with it. And the fact that I suck has nothing to do with my opinon....

The campaign is short and everyone online is a ass.

Every second game I enter i just get banned/kicked from the server, its not funny. If people cant work out how to set there game to private then should they be allowed to host?

Do many people still play this online? It was just incredibly laggy for me so I had to sell it.

I was super excited for this game after being addicted to the series since the first game in the series came out, but sadly the game was complete crap mainly because the single player was complete sh1t and everyone boosted so it didn't make it a fun game, plus it was super laggy and the vision-cam feature made your guy look likes he's just been punched in the face.:grin:
