Recently I formatted my hard drive to install Windows 7, and I forgot my entire music collection (1000+ songs) was on it! So I started to rebuild it the exact same way when I realized that there were quite a few songs that I just didn't like in it, songs that my sisters picked. Anyway, I need help finding some new music. Recently I have gotten into Radiohead, (the) Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Florence and the Machine, all Indie Rock/Alternative I'm guessing, and I also really like Coldplay. So if you can, recommend some good music to me!

Listen to the songs on spotify/pandora radio to get a good listen to the artists.

Btw funeral for a friend seem ok, im just listening to there stuff on spotify. One of my favourite bands is Coheed and Cambria although I think something like The ramones will probably suite your tastes more. I would've suggested more but it seems like most of the bands I would've suggested have already been mentioned.

Just one question? You guys want real alternative stuff like... indie stuff (Grizzly Bear, Eeels and such) or more like big studio stuff? (Muse, and all those bands?)

Transatlanticism is my favorite of their albums, but each one is slightly different in style, and each one is worth checking out to see if you like it. Narrow Stairs (+The Open Door EP) is their strongest CD, IMO.

i like rise against, but they maybe a little too hard rock for you so try the songs everchanging, audience of one, and swing life away, they aren't as hard rock as songs like give it all or ready to fall

Rise Against for sure, and I don't know if RHCP is really a useful suggestion, but I like them. Based on some of the bands that have been mentioned I'm sure Plain White T's and Snow Patrol would be right up your alley.

He also recently supported Muse when they played in Teignmouth, he's not far from the big time methinks...

The entire Alive 2007 album from Daft Punk.

Not to mention the album Forfeiture by House Vs. Hurricane. It combines hardcore (screaming and everything) with huge techno beats. It makes for a really great effect. And, best of all, they're from Australia. Aussie pride FTW!!!
