I had found out about Extra Life via the podcast last year, but was too late to participate. So when this year I had found out that I had plenty of time I started rallying the troops and me and my friends were making a day of it. I wasn't sure how much money I would be able to raise, but if it came down to it I plan on donating all of the money needed myself.

Then 2 days ago I was told that my 15 year old cousin Rachel had died at Texas Childrens hospital before she had enough time to be brought back to Marion, OH (Where our family's live); due to cancer. This has changed my view on Extra Life completely and only now do I completely understand the importance of research and financial assistance to organizations and places such as these.

So this year I will be playing for her, and for me I hope those of you playing as well will keep her in your hearts while you play so that hopefully you remember that its not just about playing games for 24 hours, its about helping out those in need.

My cousin's showing is tomorrow and she will be buried September, 10 her 16th birthday

Thank you guys for taking the time to read my little story. And god bless everyone who is participating in EL this year.

Hey Doombox.. That's an inspiring story. This is my first year to partake in extra life myself, and it's been truly amazing seeing how some of my friends have rallied around the cause.

Im sorry for your loss, and keep up the good work!
