He's appeared in over 200 games, so i'll just list the ten most popular. It's either Galaxy or 64 for me, 64 just blew me away at the time, but the level design in galaxy is the best i've seen in any game.

well either way it's Super Mario Bros 3 is my fave. Tanuki mario is my favorite power up and the game is just pure fun with an awesome easter egg where you could play the original Mario bros^^

I would have to agree with you on that, shane. But I was mostly dissapointed by the ending of galaxy. WTF NO YOSHI

even though, mario 2 wasn't really mario... it was still my favorite... i guess that says something about the series.... damn.

Super Mario Bros 3.

I wish Nintendo would back up there "graphics don't matter" statements and make Super Mario Bros 4 and Super Mario World 2 with 2d graphics like the SNES versions. They would be awesome for the Wii Ware channel. Or at least make a Super Mario All Stars 2 retail game. Sega has been making Sonic compilations games for years now why hasn't Nintendo done that for Mario?

Maybe if they didn't slap something Mario-related into every single game. Nintendo always wants to claim to be unique and have a ton of novelty, yet they use the same old characters and plots.

SMB3 was the greatest. It had the best power-ups in the series, nothing beats the tanuki, frog and hammer suits. Plus it had one of the best Mario levels in the series, it was either 5-2 or 5-3. Karibo Boot FTW.

Its got to be Mario 64. No other game survived the transition to 3D as well as Mario, and not only did he survive, he raised the bar for all platformers to follow, which if you ask me, a lot are still trying to do.

Galaxy is amazing though, and proboably the best 3D platformer since Mario 64, and that's saying something.

My Vote has to go to Super Mario Bros 3 I still play that game

Super Mario 64 was the best, but it isn't as good without the classic N64 controller. I bought it on my Wii Virtual Console but when I want to play it I still use my trusty N64.

My favorite has to be Super Mario Galaxy. With it's amzing graphics, music, and gameplay it was simply a magical experiance.

Paper Mario. I dunno what it is, but I love RPG games....I like the leveling....which is why I don't play WoW, because I know I'll get hooked...then I'll go broke. lol

I'll have to stick to Super Mario World. I've played Mario 64, Sunshine & Galaxy & they were just better looking games to me. That being on newer consoles of course. They just didn't offer the fun factor that Super Mario World did for its time. Of course, I'm much older now & really grown out of Mario games so that plays a large factor in my decision. I still rank Mario RPG as the best Mario based game ever followed by Mario Kart 64.

Super Mario 64 introducd me to gaming.

My favorite would have to be Super Mario World, because it was the first game I've ever played, and the first game I also finished completely (both on the SNES and on the GBA remake). The only downside? The game brought us the evil being that is Yoshi. :D
