So I finally got the freaking internet on my laptop since arriving at univeristy, I thought i'd ask the question to others who have just started how they are finding the the 1st first weeks of uni life.

So far for myself, its been pretty hectic, I've partied a shit load, spent a rediculous amount of money, had far to many late nights and have had the police come to my flat 3 times so far now.

well im in my second year of college and i'm enjoying it so much more than high school. I don't party at all (personally i am against drinking and all that goes with partying) but i'm just trying to keep my head down and focused on grades, work, and mma.

edit: idk if i even count for this thread cuz i didnt just start. oh well

Well...erm...ButterFlyFairy...that is a strange name, didn't you used to be SamVII? Or am I thinking or someone completely different?

Anyways, Uni is a doddle, i graduated in July, it kind of sucks though, i miss being at uni :( What uni are you at my friend? Remember you only need to PASS the first year, as it won't count towards your final grade :D So spend this year partying drinking smoking weed and having sex, because the next 2 years will be spent working your butt off :D

Good luck! You lucky bastard, I want to be a fresher again :(

smoking weed

Don't be advertising drug use here. Sorry if you were joking, and I've taken it the wrong way, but advocating drug use on a forum with more than enough kids on it just doesn't seem right to me.

Ouch. Hope my future uni doesn't do that... Lol, still don't know where I'm going for uni so I'm worrying about nothing

Settle down ladee. He was just joking. Life isn't all POT O' GOLD.

Yeah, I agree, and I'm not sure the little ones will take it that seriously either, as they will probably ignore or forget it.

EDITED!

They already have better access to it than alcohol; a forum post won't encourage them. Also, he was saying it in a joke way. Not SMOKE WEEDS KIDS BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME!.

Stop talking bout it, and the topic dies. Simple.

College/Secondary school -> Uni apparently is a huge step, so yeah, dunno bout that.

Parties sound good tho

Do you guys have generic parties or do you have themes? Around here there were parties which themes were Angels&Demons , PimpsandHoes etc.

Officer Mudkip

ThePianoMan

We did a Pimps and Prostitutes theme in a year 10 party, was funny, ended
up handcuffed to a girl and a radiator

God that was a great evening...

aye, and i missed 6 weeks of coursework because of an exclusion

You've got 2 1/2 years(ish), don't worry.

And who's fault is it you got an exclusion /motherly tone

ThePianoMan
10-17-2009, 04:11 PM
It was kinda your fault for signing in as the teacher though, was it not?

ThePianoMan
10-17-2009, 04:18 PM
That much is unfair. You shouldn't have in the first place, everyone else doing it ain't an excuse. But yeah, if all did it, all should be punished

Freshers have epic parties.

In my third year a guy called me a fresher, so i straight up punched him. Being a fresher is cool, but being called a fresher when you aren't, is like getting stabbed mentally.

Well SamVII, Uni is the best time in your life, and to the guy who says themed parties suck, well, alot of the time it will be like someones birthday, and they want to do a theme for it. For example:

One party, the girl wanted a navy theme, so me and 5 other of our mates got 6 boxes and painted them so they looked like one big boat when we got together, that was gooooood.

Another party we had to go as a celebrity/character etc with the same initials as us, so i went as Alvin Chipmunk, that was amazing, i had a wrestling match with Abraham Lincoln, so good. After the party I realised I could have gone as alice copper, god damn it :P

Well i wasn't advocating it, but at Uni, nearly everyone smokes weed as much as they drink alcohol, so like, it is a part of Uni life. Of course i said it as a joke, but who cares man? People do it, move on :P

Next to no one smokes weed at my uni, infact I'm pretty sure you get thrown out if your caught, it's not a part of uni life to get drunk and high on weed all the time that's just annoying stereotype.

I don't really understand how the English higher learning system works, but 4 year college in the US, Freshman year is...well useless education wise if you paid attention in high school. Atleast in my case all my freshman classes were redo's of stuff i learned in high school, and they were all the required classes, so the work was ez and all that was left was to party.

Sounds like things have changed since I was in college. I guess they just automatically enroll everyone in remedial classes for your first year now. Kind of sucks that you're being forced to pay for classes covering material you already know.
