IDK about that, but it is really fun co op. Played for like 5 hours yesterday with 3 ppl without even realizing it.

I have to agree with Del. This game sure is a time sucker.

Hell yeah its fun, I also spent a significant amount of time on it yesterday without even realizing it. I guess I was just having too much fun shooting peoples faces off and watching limbs fly around. Good times

My favorite thing about the game is that if you wonder into an area that you shouldn't be in, you are going to be high tailing it out of there due to how fast the enemies will own you. Gives you a good feeling of actual danger and makes you approach stuff differently to make it work.

It's incredibly fun. I got the last copy at my Gamestop this morning, and I just stopped playing now because I got disconnected from my host. If that hadn't happened, I wouldn't have realized I've been playing non-stop for several hours. And I still feel like I've barely scratched the surface. Hell, I've been fighting almost nothing but skags so far and it's still awesome. And finding that perfect gun is just as rewarding as finding that perfect sword in Diablo.

Using a sniper right now with a little pink scoped pistol called a Lady Finger, but it kicks ass. Plus, a fire elemental sniper rifle, and I just got my third weapon slot, so I'm looking for a decent scoped assault rifle.

My only gripe with the game is matching up with similar levelled characters. Every game I join with a host of a close level to mine, there's someone at least 10 levels higher there too. Several of the missions that I "finished" were done before I even found out where I was going or what I was doing. Again, this stuff is all very Diablo. Both the bad and the good.

But goddamn, headshots are satisfying in this game!

I've found that the best way to experience the game's universe is to go through by yourself because when I was playing multiplayer, I felt like I was rushing along to get to the next fight. I'll probably do the rest of the game in single player and then play my second play through (and any other play through) in multiplayer.

Boarderlands is definitely one of those games that you play and think 'damn. Did I really do all that just to get this gun 3 seconds later that outclasses it'

Its still amazingly fun. I'm constantly pushing forward to try to get a new sniper rifle just to pick off headshots. I even have an alt for when my friends come on.

Lilith elemental spec is insanely fun. She's my alt with a Mordecai sniper spec main.

I'm picking it up tomorrow, i pre-ordered it but have been too busy with my school play. I am wondering for those who got it at gamestop if there's a pre-order bonus, i didn't check but am interested to see if they're gonna make me lose out on it.

Borderlands can be seen as the gun fight before the bombs drop. It's an excellent game & is a sure time killing good time. It falls in the same category that games like Crackdown, Mercenaries 2 & Overlord. They were all really fun to play games but they all faded into the background once all of the triple A games hit the market. Borderlands is a great pick up & play game when you feel the need to. I won't say that it's the next Fallout 3 however but it's just as fun to play.

I'd say the best way is with actual friends who don't want to rush either. The game's not built to be played single player, IMO.

Im playing through on Single Player and I am doing just fine. I can do everything at my own pace, and it forces you to improve at an insane pace since you are tackling sometimes 20 enemies all alone.

Its not that the game is not built to be played single player, its just that you cant suck and play it single player

I didn't say you can't do it. It's just not as fun.

It is if you prefer playing single player over co-op, I don't feel like carrying people or sharing bad guys to kill. Im a selfish bastard

I must thouroughly agree with this sentiment. Playing with a full 4 for the past 2 days, i have no idea what is going on in the world. I play brick so all i know is that i get to eat lightning and crap thunder on enemies faces, or simply shoot rockets at stuff till it be dead. Lightning artifact for hand to hand and the "red rocket" launcher for ranged is frickin insane for brick!

I dunno. Again, I compare the game to Diablo. It's hella fun single player, but it a least feels like a group game. After several random games with people I don't know, I found a few that take their time, joke around, and enjoy the game, rather than rush through. It's just not the full experience if it's solo.

That said, what's with games that only support 2 player split screen!? Gears of War did it, Halo ODST did it, Left 4 Dead did it, and now Boarderlands. I have friends that love to game, but either don't have the games or systems. I think gaming companies are forgetting that some people like to interact in person. I'm stuck playing nothing but Halo 3 when they come by, which is the only thing that supports more than 2 players on one damn screen.

You should probably go set up a thread about that, if there isn't one already. There's a whole potential discussion waiting in that observation.

If Fallout and Call of Duty had a bastard child it would be borderlands! I love this game, very addicting...

i got to play some co-op at a gaming event on my campus and i got to say it's pretty addicting. i like that it presents some challenge; i like that ur compass doesn't show you the exact locations of thing and actually makes you search. The names of the monsters are also amusing; fighting badass fire skags never gets old!

Yeah, I like that the word "badass" will actually grant you more experience. It's easily become the most addictive game I've played in a looong time. Gearbox is just lucky it made the release date before November, because as much as I love it, Borderlands is gonna fall to the wayside once MW2 and L4D2 hit.

Welcome to the forum, btw.

Have only played single player so far and soldier is only a level 11 or 12 so not too far in yet, but the only real complaint I have so far is the driving. Just unlocked that last night so haven't done a lot of driving yet, but it just feels awkward to me. I can definatly see where playing with a couple friends who would actually work together and share the loot would make the fun last longer for sure. From what I've heard about the story I'll probobly have more complaints by the time I finish my first play through, but we shall see.

SilentHero is pretty accurate on his description. I got my copy today from Gamefly and am really enjoying it. Then again I was a huge fan of Fallout 3 and COD 4, currently a Level 10 Soldier and becoming proficient in rifles. Haven't tried online yet but hope to do so later tonight. Perhaps the only issue I have is the control of the vehicles, reminds me a bit of the original Halo and I'm not used to it compared to other similar games (GTA, Red Faction Guerrilla, etc.) but no matter because initial impressions are quite good.
