I'm not sure, but even if they did, I HIGHLY doubt they'd be outrageous or high.

Not on a $14 shirt you won't.

Luckily, there isn't an import tax on that. Even if there was though, it wouldn't be a large amount.

You are not stupid, they do make it massively difficult to understand. Basically as long as you are not planning to re-sell it (or profiting from it in another way - like charging people to see it) then you should never have to pay a separate fee for import tax.

Any import taxes due should be part of your shipping costs but I think I'm correct in saying that there isn't any import taxes due on the private purchase of a T-shirt.

i just bought 4 t shirts from jinx.com and ended up having to pay £16 tax which was close 30% of the order value and it has taken a month and i have still yet to recieve my t shirts.

not planning on reselling any of them and the import tax was not covered in shipping costs.

not saying your order from sg will be the same but that is what has just happened to me no exageration

I bought this t-shirt http://sharkrobot.com/store/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&keyword=peels&search_in_description=1&categories_id=&inc_subcat=1&manufacturers_id=3&pfrom=&pto=&dfrom=&dto=&x=55&y=1 and it was like $9 shipping from America to England, no import tax or anything :P So now i can tell everyone, that there are PEELS HERE!

You may be charged customs duty if the amount of duty is over €10, and import VAT if the value of the T-shirt (including shipping costs) is over €22. The import duty on T-shirts is 12% according to the European Commission website (http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds/cgi-bin/tarduty?ProdLine=80&Type=0&Action=1&Lang=EN&SimDate=20091025&YesNo=1&Indent=-1&Flag=1&Test=tarduty&Periodic=0&Download=0&Taric=6109100000&Country=US%2F0400&Day=25&Month=10&Year=2009), so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I've ordered video games from Play-Asia.com a couple of times and have been charged customs duty only once. I guess they just don't pay much attention to packages below a certain value.
