View Full Version : SAW VI - Wanna Play the Same Game?

Went to see the new addition to the SAW series this past weekend and was expecting the worst, especially considering SAW V was a great disappointment (And that's saying a lot coming from me who is a SAW fanatic).

The movie had some intriguing traps and the flow of the entire plot with its connections to past movies (Hey, it's what the series is known for) was nicely done! Didn't have the climactic ending I was hoping for, but it wrapped up sufficiently enough to satisfy my gory needs (Very lady-like right?). Acting... Eh, John Kramer/Tobin Bell sets the bar high for his castmates and they can't seem to quite reach his level even after 6 movies.

But overall, it was a good movie to watch, definitely recommend it (Versus the game version, stray away from that horrible thing!) What did you guys think???

Yes they are, as much as I like the series up to a certain point, they needed to stop at... II? Maybe III at the most. But sadly the way this movie ended, I have a feeling there's going to be a SAW VII @____@

yeah SAW has the green light on VII & VIII

why?

becausee of the money!
cheep and easy to make and they rake in the cash

I know what Saw VII will be called.

Saw: We're Just Like Guitar Hero Now.

I heard it got killed by Paranormal Activity in the box office. I'm wondering how long they'll bleed the series.

You "went to see" it? I thought those went straight to DVD nowadays.

Seriously, this is the first I'm even hearing of it. Great advertising campaign they must have had.

Nope...they're theatrical still.
I like the Saw movies, but they really should have ended a while ago. It's caught the disease that every other horror movie has died from: The first few are decent and then they start getting bad (I think it was IV for me).

And VII and VIII are green lit, so who knows how long they'll last. I seriously think this one should have ended with Hoffman dying in the reverse bear trap that Jill put him in to end the series, but they had to go with the cliche cliffhanger with him screaming to the sky with his mouth ripped halfway open. OK...that second part isn't really cliche, but you get what I'm saying.

And there's no way they'll end it with two more movies. They'll go for another trilogy to make more money, so there will be at least a Saw IX.

And f***ing no Dr. Gordon...at all? Fail.

Seriously, this is the first I'm even hearing of it. Great advertising campaign they must have had.
Really? It must have been different everywhere, because I didn't stop seeing ads for it for a month and a half up to it's release.

Good to see someone else watched it at least lol
I was honestly expecting Hoffman to die, simply because I don't see what more they can really stretch this series for. If it got to the point where the wife started carrying out John's will, then that's hitting everyone I think. We saw her involvement as far as it went in connection to the other movies now... Can't we just stop???

In regards to...
Dr. Gordon: I know there's a lot of talk of him surviving from the first movie, but I don't think he's alive anymore. My prediction is he died from immense blood loss after cutting off his foot, and we just never see a corpse because there'd be no need to really show him dead now. Plus, he failed his test since he didn't kill Adam by 6AM so he wouldn't be given any help by Jigsaw and his apprentices.

I saw only minor advertising for the movie, every year it gets less and less because even the producers know they're wearing the series thin.

i think they know people will assume another one is coming out each october. they don't need to waste money on advertising... especially when they know people will go and see them, even if they know it's going to be awful.

yep, all those people who claim how much they hate the series yet still goes to see it are funding the continuing releases!

I had just watched Saw (cant think roman numerals) 5, a couple of days ago in preparation to watch this one. I had no idea what was going on while i watched it, So i don't think i'll be partaking in the last one.

seriously though is it V for 5?

'i' = 1
'v' = 5
'x' = 10
'l' = 50
'c' = 100
'd' = 500
'm' = 1000

But in caps, it won't let me do caps on their own for some odd reason

SAW V was mainly used to explain Detective Hoffman's connection to every single movie before it... So it was a waste of money to even create it when it could of been easily summed up in dialogue instead. But despite SAW V's complete letdown I still went to see the new one... Free ;)

'i' = 1
'v' = 5
'v' = 10
'l' = 50
'c' = 100
'd' = 500
'm' = 1000

Just a small correction for 10 = Roman Number X

Honestly...and you claim to be a Final Fantasy X fan...:lol:

With more regards to:
Dr. Gordon. If he's insane enough to saw off his own foot, then I wouldn't put it past the creators to explain that he cauterized the wound on his own. It wouldn't be so far fetched for the series, seeing all the crazy shit that always happens in them. I dunno. Maybe Gordon can come back and be the one to be Jigsaw's true apprentice or something and is the one to kill Hoffman. I dunno...maybe Jigsaw didn't really want him to kill Adam and the fact that he didn't proved him worthy or something...

This is me grasping at straws, folks.

I am, and it was previously just an X, but when putting them in quote marks, was still thinking about the V, cause I looked at my clock to start me off cause my head went dead.

You'd be hard pressed to find more of an FFX addict

All in all, the point was.... FFX rocks :grin:

And once again:
I heard also that the actor behind Dr. Gordon is suing the creators of the SAW series for non-payment or something along those lines, so even if they wanted to bring him back...

Yeah, it was announced after Saw III i think it was, that there was a contract for eight of them. who knows, maybe the people making them are just as tired of making them as most people are of going to see them. Personally i have to go see them because I'm pot-committed to put it in poker terms. I'ive seen the first five gotta see the lats three:thumbsup:
