View Full Version : Should I go back to playing/finishing Killzone 2?
The Dutch Don 10-27-2009, 08:38 AM I never finished Killzone 2 even though I think it's a really decent game. But for whatever reason I always end up playing something else.
Should I go back and finish it? Is the multiplayer worth diving into? After it got released I haven't heard anyone raving about the multiplayer. And how is the situation now now that it is 3/4 year old. Is the multiplayer holding up like the COD4 multiplayer is? Or is it not that good?
A lot of questions which I hope to get answers on from you guys.
So fire away..
ruddypoo 10-27-2009, 11:43 AM well i'm in a similar situation, i've been thinking of going back to the campaign because i only got halfway through and ditched if for multiplayer. After that i played multiplayer nonstop before getting sick of it.
I hadn't played it a long time, but i've been delving back into it recently and i have to say it's still a lot of fun. there aren't as many people playing it as before, but you won't have a problem finding a game.
if you've seriously never tried playing multiplayer you should definitely give it a shot. The best is when you're starting out and levelling up, and trying to get badges. That is KZ2 multiplayer at its best.
instant 10-27-2009, 12:49 PM The multiplayer is holding it's own, It's pretty much the only game I play online these days, I'd recommend finishing the single player because beating the last level of the game is an accomplishment on it's own.
PopTrogdor 10-27-2009, 02:02 PM I play it in short bouts once in a while, usually when we have a gamer night, or if i think, ooooo that trophy is easy to get :P then I realise it isn't easy, but **** it, i loved Killzone 2 :P
But yes, you should definitely finish the single player, and the Multiplayer is quite easy to just jump back into, it will take like, one deathmatch for you to get back into it and remember the controls etc, but after that, it's smooth all the way :P
stluni 10-27-2009, 02:45 PM From what I've heard, still one the more active MP games, and like instant said, if you beat the last level, especially on the harder difficulty settings, you'll be proud of yourself.
Cam-Dog 10-27-2009, 07:22 PM You bought the game why make it a wasted purchase? I dont really care as long as Gurilla Games gets the money they deserve for making it.
Esmeralda 10-27-2009, 08:26 PM I'm currently going through the same dilemma, I've been wanting to go back to the game to not only beat it but keep trying out the multiplayer, but I get distracted with other games. But considering how I remember I did purchase it for a reason, I play it in spurts, almost at that last level... :undecided:
CozyMachine 10-27-2009, 09:35 PM The multiplayer is both rewarding and fun. The different classes require different types of play and keep the gameplay fresh for longer than most shooters. I have probably put 15-20 hours into the multiplayer and I don't think I played past the 2nd or 3rd mission of the campaign.
I'd say its worth going back to if you aren't playing anything else.
Spoodge6 10-27-2009, 10:28 PM Definately, it will be lost in the MW2 dominance when that comes out so you might as well while you have the chance.
The Dutch Don 10-28-2009, 03:18 AM Thanks for the replies everyone!
I also heard a rumour that in multiplayer everyone is now sniping and hiding which takes away a lot from the fun in the beginning when everyone was still leveling up. Has anyone experienced this too?
And yeah, I better give it a try before the dark lord of the Sith rises again on 09.10.11 or I will probably not play it anytime soon..
instant 10-28-2009, 06:42 AM ^not true...Compared to before there are more skilled snipers now, so since the snipers are getting a respectable amount of kills some people might jump to conclusion that everybody is sniping.
I've been playing this game religiously lately so trust me when I say it's as good as day one.
if you don't like snipers stay away from a map called pyrrhus rise
Killgraft 10-28-2009, 09:22 AM Yea Id say so,why not? Always fun to get back into a game you havent played in a while. I personally wasnt the biggest fan of Killzone 2 (Well, i liked it enough to finish the campaign), but im actually debating playing it again soon.
TamarindLAZ 10-28-2009, 06:44 PM Definitely go back and beat the single player.
As for the online, I'm not too sure. I only rented this game and only had time for the campaign. (I'm not the type of person that jumps online and skips the campaign)
CozyMachine 10-28-2009, 06:57 PM Thanks for the replies everyone!

It shouldn't match you against snipers for your first couple games.
TheStonedSheep 10-29-2009, 03:57 PM Well, if you don't get fustrated easily then yes, if you do then its not worth it.
