So the demo has been released for PSN. I'll give my thoughts on it later, as it's still downloading..but what do you guys think? Hopefully this starts out about the demos and evolves into a discussion about the game when it's released.

I've only played the Clank demo, but I dig it. am stoked about the Rachet demo and the retail game... after a few other holiday releases.

Anyone play it yet? Will most likely pick it up tonight. I just have been swamped the last week and haven't had much free time. Own ever other R&C game, so this will just be another awesome one.

Went and bought this tonight....I am loving it. I am also one of the biggest R&C fans, but its just more of the fantastic stuff. Funny, solid gameplay, good weapons, and newly...amazing graphics. They are very bring and surprisingly stunning.

Very impressed, so if you like R&C Insomniac has put out another winner go pick it up.

played the clank demo so far, pretty cool, the time warping mechanics are a nice twist and the humour's still there, which is good

I didnt like the Clank demo and the whole time angle that his portion has. I hope there isnt too much of Clank in the game bc playing as Ratchet is much more fun

I played the clank demo last week and just downloaded the Ratchet demo last night, haven't played it yet. Did anyone else play quest for booty? I noticed QfB was about 2.2gb in size and I thought that was rather large but understandable for a 3-4 hour game. Now I'm noticing that the crack in time demos are 2+gb each. WTF their 30 minutes long and thats including cutscenes and tutorial, you could probably finish clank demo in 5 minutes after knowing what to do. Where is all this data going?

Probably more graphically intensive and more things going on. (I am just taking a wild guess). Q4B was a great game, held me over until Crack in Time but it was pretty small. I believe it only gave us 6 weapons and there were maybe 4 or 5 worlds tops? I haven't played the demos, just bought Crack in Time but difference in graphics from looking at ToD/ Q4B to Crack in Time is outstanding, they really put a lot into it. I love it.

I am guessing that most of what you download is the game engine. I would guess that the actual levels are much smaller in size but no matter how big or small the game is you would have to install the core components in order to run the game at all.

I am also very excited for this game. I loved Tools of Destruction but the only thing putting me off is the backlog of games I already have. Not mention all the new releases coming out soon.

it's the last time though, appreantly insomniac did a survey and most people said frame rate dosen't matter so the next one proberly won't be in HD Graphics, i want to know who these idiots are as i know graphics is the last thing to be concerned about in a ratchet and clank game but it helps to have awesome graphics.

one thing i am not liking is how there is a trail of bolts to the gold bolts. that should not be there on hard. maybe on easy but not hard.

I played through both of the demos, Clank's gameplay seems wayyy cooler now, Ratchet's seems pretty much the same... This is a game I think I'll pick up at some point.

Ive never in my life played ANY R&C game.... would it be still a good game to a newcomer?

or pass till its onsale?

i would say yeah. It's not one of those games you need the others to understand the storyline though for a crack in time all you need to understand is explained at the start or you could buy quest for booty off the PSN.

I loved the demo, played it repetidly till i found everything the demo had to offer. Something i liked is the new gameplay still while at the same time mantaining the same concept, insomniac have made some awesome guns though i was annoyed that i couldn't test out the spiral of death it hardly matters as this is a day 1 purchase for me.

Id say buy Crack in Time, its the best one. (I have every one, PS2, PSP, and PS3) If you really enjoy it, go pick up R&C Future Tools of Destruction, because it will probably be 1/2 off by now.

If you look at the videos and it looks like something you would like, then buy it. Tons of huge explosions and tons of action and things getting crazy on screen. Its funny, the story is great. Such a good game.

I finished the game yesterday, and i thought ok, lets go get all those zoni and do everything else.

So while i was flying around in space, suddenly, the news comes on (using the same tune the BBC uses i might add) and it comes on saying "there is controversy on the set of My Blaster Runs Hot, when Copernicus Qwark had an Outrage at one of the lighting staff" and then it had Qwark do the BEST Christian Bale rant ever made!

I already loved this game before that, but that really just summed up the whole experience, it was fan-****ing-tastic.

Dr. Nefarious is the best villain ever, love him, just his bit right at the start where he starts hitting an incapacitated Clank, love it!

Got the game last week or so... Played it all day everyday even during my finals (yeah a bit silly of me but I usually get most A's anyway). Finished it this evening. Ok I have to admit this was my FIRST Ratchet game but anywho I played, beat it on hard, and holy crap did I have fun...

I mean geez, there's a game like modern warfare 2 where its 'awesome' but R&C = awesome sauce. FUN. I know this is Insomniac's fourth or sixth R&C game and boy have they perfected platforming. Of course there are a few minor bugs but they DON'T detract from the fun at all. One tip, play on hard. It is not like Uncharted 'crushing' hard its more like, we're going to challenge you, and your gonna have a good time fighting.

@photomaster, the bolts leading to gold bolt are few and far between. Maybe once each planet and I think i'm glad they put it here cos maybe you might be poor (bolt-wise) so its a good boost without having to search I guess.

Overall this is an excellent, excellent game. If your brain is sound, you'd get this game. Woah, I guess this is a mini-review or something. Heheh, GO GET IT. NAO. And like PopTrogDor said, the radio stuff is awesome!
