If I advertise this league on the Forza community, I think they will come in droves for some of the features we'll be offering that other leagues won't. Which is great. The more the better. But this could become unmanageable real quick.
So, I'm thinking that a cap of 5 Divisions, a total of 30 drivers, would be a good idea. We're a little over half way there now, and it gives us room to advertise, but keep it reasonable.
Perhaps in season 2, with the infrastructure established, we can handle more.
Thoughts?

Your way sounds easier to manage and understand to me.

I think we ought to have a beta sort of season (Season Omega?) with the Divisions we have now, to test the features and make sure everything is optimized. That way we can tweak it and make it perfect before advertising, and have a more polished product to offer the Forza community as a whole when the official Season 1 rolls around. Seems like we have the time to run a mini-season just to test things out before Season 1 starts.
I do really look forward to welcoming into our community, and subsequently getting my ass handed to me, by the more experienced racers of the Forza community. That's part of the reason I think we should run it with the just guys that have signed up for Season 1. I could use the practice!

Obviously, we’ll be racing before the start of the season to get comfortable. I think with the divisions of 6, there’s not as much need for a whole Beta Season. It’s up to the division to adjust. Also, we’ll be into February before our first mixed-together event. That’s plenty of time. Division racing itself is on a flexible schedule. I don’t want to lose people by waiting too long. We’re already pushing it out to January. Some games get forgotten in that span of time, although Forza is definitely NOT one of those games.

Yeah, I definitely don't think the start of the season should be pushed out. I'm more focused on making sure the scoring system is exactly the way we want it before we start doing it for reals.
Maybe while we're running pre-season events we should apply different point systems to see which makes the most sense for this group. I think if we came up with three different points systems and ran them against the results of a pre-season gamer night or two, we'd probably get a really clear picture of what scoring system would work best.

I like the idea of opening thing up more after we work out some of the kinks... I figure we can do a lot of testing through Nov and Dec then advertise it in January if UDD feels we are ready for that.

I like the idea of a "beta season" before the league is advertised on the Forza Community. They WILL come in droves. Also with the "beta season" you, UndeadDoG, can get a good idea of how the league will run...and so on and so forth.
Either way, this league is gonna be all kinds of crazy awesome fun! Vroom vroom vroom!!!:w00t:

I think running a season with just the gruop we have now is the best idea. That way we can tweak the league b/c when we open it up it will be bigger than Lono's ego.

I'm for opening it up a little to the rest of the Forza community, but for the first season I'd rather we kept it as SG community league. Playing with people we know through the forums makes it easier in my opinion, not that I wouldn't trust those from outside the community.
