Do you agree? If not what do you think it should have been?
Personally I haven't played Fallout but I think i will be getting an inevitable platinum version. :)

Game of the Year? Already? Several games have yet to come out; how could they give anything the award until the END of the year?

Because after November 10, no game other than MW2 will be eligible for that title. Simple as that.

If we're basing the Game of the Year schedule around MW2, then why doesn't MW2 get the game of the year? If a game is that good to justify getting a GotY award under the assumption that nothing after it can come close, then that game should get the award, and not something that while universally acknowledged as "great", is in the same genre of MW2 and although a good contender, still totally able to be surpassed.
DanC85 10-30-2009, 05:03 PM "To qualify for an award games had to be released between May 2008 and May 2009. "
Gamebler 10-30-2009, 06:00 PM If we're basing it on May 2008 to May 09, then yes. I totally agree that it was the best game released in that time period.
Artemas 10-30-2009, 06:31 PM Yes. It's one of the very few single player games I still love after 100 hours and three characters.
DeathByWaffle 10-30-2009, 07:39 PM It was one of my favorite games last year, though the pure glitchyness of the DLC has made me not love it as much.
Raven 10-30-2009, 08:13 PM I do agree. It was that one game with single player that still kept me coming back. Most games need to have some sort of multiplayer to keep me interested but Fallout 3 alongside Batman: Arkham Asylum is perfect with just single.
kbknigon 10-30-2009, 09:28 PM Yep, deserves it all the way. I'm still playing it, my character's on level 15 or something. So much fun, I can literally sit there and play it for hours on end and not get tired in the slightest.
fallout123 11-05-2009, 01:22 AM totally deserved it
Vault Dweller 11-05-2009, 02:25 AM I can see that, yeah. I'm on my third play-through, and have logged more hours into this one than any other game of that year. It brought Fallout, one of the greatest game franchises (IMO), into this generation and made it something truly memorable.
SWF Joker 11-05-2009, 05:17 AM Personally I haven't played Fallout but I think i will be getting an inevitable platinum version. :)

GET THIS GAME NOW ITS AMAZING
game of the year hands down
Cheese 11-05-2009, 11:59 AM Yep. The game definitely deserves GOTY after the amount of quality gameplay you get out of it.
Diortem 11-05-2009, 02:45 PM Wasnt Fallout GOTY last year with most?
Yoshifett 11-05-2009, 03:34 PM Absolutely deserves it. Some say the game is depressing because of the landscape, but it's about nuclear holocaust, so that was kind of a required part of the game design. Simply put, the game is massive and highly replayable. The levelling system is addictive and the weapons and loot are massively interesting. The DLC has been very good for the most part, and it's clear that Bethesda put a tremendous amount of thought into the new V.A.T.S. system. I think I've put about 180 hours into this game, but as soon as I finish this character, I'm ready to start another one!
BlinkinCard41 11-05-2009, 06:48 PM I would have to say Grand Theft Auto IV is game of the year for me. I don't think that Fallout 3 isn't an excellent game, but it just isn't drawing me back to play it more. I've recently gone back to play through GTA IV again, and I'm really enjoying it again.
Edit: I would have to say Left 4 Dead came in a close second. I love that game. The only problem is that the amount of content it was released with didn't justify the price tag, as well as some of the frustrating glitches it had.
