Ok I'm buying this release for my PS3 but unlike most people buying this i have never been fortunate enough to have played God of War 1 or 2 If your buying this game as well i was wondering if there is anyone else like me out there who hasn't managed to play the first two games?

I played 1 didn't manage to play 2. But it was loooong time ago, i'm really looking forward to playing it again and scaled for HD.

The trophies may just pull me into getting this one.

I havnt played any of the GOW games but I cant wait to get this! Everyone seems to like GOW so i think you will get your money worth! 2in1 :D

This makes me sad that so many people haven't played the GOW games they were by far the best PS2 games.

God of War by far is one of the best titles for the PS2! And it's great how they're making sure everyone know this by remastering it :thumbsup: For an old fan like me I feel compelled to buy the PS3 collection even though I own the PS2 versions. You definitely won't be disappointed :heart:

It should be $39.99 + tax. Not bad for two games even if they're remastered editions

question for the followers, how does the psp version CoO alter the story line? Wasn't it a addtion to the story?

Prequel to the first, more of a "kratos pocket stories" really doesn't weigh very heavy in the whole scheme of things but still very good.

I won't say I downloaded them the first time cause I didn't, all I can say is sony definitely deserves my money this time.

To the OP, I played the first 2 on PS2 but don't have them anymore so this is a definite buy for me. Only beat 1 once but destroyed number 2, beat on god mode and all the challenges. Anyone interested in taking the challenge, just watch old speed runs of mario 1 and 3 on youtube. It gets you pumped. :lol:

thats what should happen but somehow someone (oddly a lot of people) missed these two reasons to own a PS2. Although I will admit there are 100s of reasons to own a PS2. I got mine on launch.

Im not so sure they will have this bundle.... at least in the time being.

They are releasing the collection remastered, to start the Hype train. Just not sure who will pay more for 1 complete disc, for $89-$99 When you get this collection for $39.99, that will probibly drop in price as soon as #3 comes out. Why would Sony just package it all together?

I'm thinking God of War 3 the Game, The collection 1+2 remasterd, documentry maybe of the series, in a collectors box, artwork etc. and around tsssssss 120,100 if we're lucky?

F*** YOU GAMESTOP, and every other site that has the game set for the 17th. If you can't get it in stores why set that date. Tell me the launch is on the 18th and I'm cool, not so now, I'm a not so happy DarkChomp.

So you would rather them lie to you instead of posting the Publishers Release date cause you can't seem to keep this sort of thing in order. I learned my lesson back in 2005 when Death Jr. was released on the PSP. Unless there is a midnight release than games get shipped/released from publisher, on there release date.

I went into the store when i was told the release date was (PS Blog also had an article on this day saying todays the day) only to go into GameStop and have them tell me UPS is sending it today. All's well though I went back today and got my copy and its as good as i remember.

again, no one lied to you, they told you when the release date is. They don't know when they are gonna get it, obviously they have an educated guess and know that if it isn't already in the store that the publisher is gonna ship it on release date but unless they said "we'll have it on Nov 17th, come get it than" than they didn't lie to you, they most likely said. "It comes out Nov 17th" or "Nov 17th is the release date." now you'll never make this same mistake again. Like I said, I did to back in 2005 with Death Jr. I thought he was lying to me to and went to game crazy to see if they had it. Now I know better, and so do you.

Now on to GoW:Col. Here are my initial impressions.

This is definitely an awesome package at a steal of a price. The game looks clear and smooth and runs at a perfect 60 fps which also helps the gameplay, now its easier to block and attack at the right times since its controls are spot on without any lag or drop in frame rate.

My complaints are that not everything was upscaled which just makes it feel half assed. I can understand that the cutscenes may not have been upscale-able since they were rendered on PS2 hardware than recorded but the menus?!?! Come on, there's no reason my pause screen should look like ass, even than I can deal with it but the worst is the button prompts and in game tutorials/hints. When they come up I feel like I'm on a windows 95 machine running at 800x600 while the game is running at 1280x1020. It just bothers. I would almost prefer playing the PS2 versions on my PS3 if it wasnt for XMB and Trophy support. And well I do love the ingame graphics. I just can't help but think it was half assed whenever they come up. Oh well. I'm loving it and will most likely be platinum-ing them both.
