View Full Version : Xbox 360 Arcade Console w/ $100 GC - $199 @ WalMart
smelly pirate 11-03-2009, 10:36 AM Gnarly deal this saturday at Walmart, but an Arcade 360 for $199 and get a $100 Gift Card for free. I will be buying groceries with mine. Can't beat a $99 backup Xbox. Sale starts at 12:01am on saturday morning, should probably plan on being there a few hours early just to be safe.
Officer Mudkip 11-03-2009, 11:01 AM Awesome deal. We Irish don't have money to just give away though.
Cheese 11-03-2009, 11:05 AM Good deal. $99 dollars (about £60) is a bargain. An arcade xbox for the price of just under 2 new games. Then you can just get a 2nd hand 360 hard drive for a small amount. Shame it's Walmart not Asda or something.

Must resist... irish... leprechaun... joke.

Peer pressure only ends when you give in...
BlueCollarGamer 11-03-2009, 07:59 PM THE PLAN: Buy the 360 Arcade($200); Sell the old 360(-$100); Spend gift card on whatever I would have anyway(-$100). Keep the hard drive; trade 256MB memory stick for new 512MB stick; pay $25 for 3 Yr extended warranty+taxes = $40.
For $40 I got a new insured system, large memory stick, and arcade codes.
For $100 buck someone else has what they see as a deal - A 360 with 256MB stick and new controller. I might even throw in a game or the codes if I already have them.
WIN WIN WIN!

I love where your mind's at, man.
Ploogle 11-03-2009, 08:55 PM Darnit, I'm considering getting a 360 now. $100? *whistle*
Link please? I can't find it on their website.
Cam-Dog 11-03-2009, 09:56 PM Quit it with all the foreplay Ploogle and just a damn game counsel!
veilx 11-03-2009, 09:59 PM Hmm, maybe I should convince my bro (He supplies my Gaming life), Thanks for the heads up. :D
Raykhenberg 11-04-2009, 03:00 AM This would be an eloquent solution to my optical drive problem, since apparently getting an XBox repaired out of warranty costs about $100.
Ploogle 11-04-2009, 12:16 PM Kotaku confirmed it, nevermind. Man, I'm REALLY torn.

Quixotic Hamster 11-04-2009, 01:10 PM Oh my! What a splendid deal! I wonder, does this offer apply to internet orders? Sadly, I live far away from the closest Walmart.
Chubbaluphigous 11-04-2009, 02:53 PM I am actually considering it....sort of. My 360 is a launch core unit. It has never had any real hardware problems strangely enough. It scratches disks sometimes, but that is about it. I am not sure if I have some fluke unit that was made well, or if it is on the verge of breaking. I don't know if I would be able to sell my old 360 though.
If I did do it, then I would probably just use the giftcard to buy things for my PS3.
morthor 11-04-2009, 03:33 PM @Chubbaluphigous: Considering that $100 is what it will cost to get your 360 repaired I'd say it's worth it. For the cost of the repair you get a new system, a full warranty, an HDMI port, and a Jasper chipset.
At the very least you should be able to sell your old one at Gamestop. I don't think they check much beyond turning the thing on judging by the number of people who claim to have bought banned consoles from there.

Anyone know what the trade-in value is for a used 360 without hard drive at Gamestop?

Not too good I'm guessing. The price probably reflects the number of dying 360s that people dump on them.
Edit: Just checked Ebay and broken 360s are selling for up to $35, so Gamestop might be giving more than I thought.
PayneTrain 11-04-2009, 08:55 PM Forget the Xbox 360, these ****ers are selling whole turkeys for 5 DOLLARS!!!! (http://gizmodo.com/5397060/walmart-selling-200-xbox-360-this-weekend-with-free-100-gift-card)

We'll get right on that.
Update: I recommend buying one today and doing a return/rebuy tomorrow, to ensure that they don't sell out. I will be doing this at two walmarts in my area, and using the giftcard from one to pay for the next. Slicker than snot!
Lone Medic 11-06-2009, 03:29 PM What a deal! I just sold my 360 for $200, I might buy a new one haha!
Walmart is great, I'm going to get my coffin from them! =D
smelly pirate 11-07-2009, 08:12 AM Update:
My return/rebuy scheme failed at one local Walmart, they said they were only going to sell today's stock with the Gift Card. There were still some there, so I got one, will try to return/rebuy at another Walmart later today.
