So I was looking for a new hard drive for the 360 on bestbuy.com and I saw the 120 gb one and I was looking at the reviews. The first one I came across was a PS3 fanboy that just starts talking about how the PS3 is better than the 360.

"So i bought a 360 from a friend with no hard drive. Payed 150 for this (which if i had to do again i would not)....its easy to use but the price is ridiculously high and not worth it. I have a ps3 and upgraded the hard drive. It cost me 80$ and i have 200gigs...you could even go higher if you wish (they have a laptop hard drive) Personally i bought a western digital and it worked flawlessly. Well, what he's saying is that he bought an xbox 360 from his friend and it doesn't have a hard drive (that's why he's looking at this hard drive) and realized it was complete BS that microsoft is charging so much for *this* hard drive when for a PS3 you can just use any laptop hard drive.

It was probably a WTF moment for him so he decided to share his anecdote with people looking to buy this hard drive in case any of them might be thinking... buy a hard drive less Xbox or buy a PS3?

No, but there's always the yellow light of death, and Sony won't accept this as a manufacturing fault so your PS3 still only has 1 year's warranty. At least with the 360 if you get RRoD, it's covered by warranty for 3 years.
Plus, if you have to pay Sony to repair your console, it's (from what I've been told) three times more expensive than a repair through Microsoft.

The PS3 is more expensive but add $40 a year and then add the price of the 360, the PS3 is cheaper as the 360 is ongoing so as the price for the PS3 stops ounce you buy it it's cheaper. I'm a bit of a PS3 fanboy as well though i like the 360. This guy's right for the time being, maybe microsoft will stop overcharging and make a cheap hard drive, i doubt it though.

In some cases it can be more if you include the cost of the wireless adapter and the cost of Gold membership as well.

There wouldn't of been a 3 year warranty if the rate of RRoDs occuring were much lower. The warranty is Microsoft's way to avoid any lawsuits from such occurances.

As for the YLoD, yes this is a known fault and oddly enough I read somewhere that it was occuring more often but I can't say much about this. I still think the PS3 is alot more stable than the 360's RRoD but this is my opinion. As for Sony's repair costs, I would be happy if you could link to a site that stated the claim instead of relying on hearsay; I'm not doubting you I'm just too lazy to look. :P

Valid points yes, but do see why it is that way and how do you honestly expect anyone to take you seriously when you have not got a PS3 yourself. I know being able to get both is costly but (imo) I would honestly take someone more seriously if they had tried a PS3 and still hated it, even if it were playing on a friend's console for some time (however if you have played on a friend's console then I take this back). At least the OP has actually tried a 360 before making his opinion even though his argument is based on the hard-drive and not the console as a whole. :undecided:

Saying all this, I am not defending the PS3, I agree the 360's live service is alot more user friendly and it provides more services but it does annoy me when someone thinks they're being 'righteous' by stating their opinion when they have;
1 - Never touched the rival console at all
2 - Based their opinions on hearsay
3 - Not looked at the bigger picture regarding all consoles and being biased to one particular console.*

The problem is that if you go to any retail site and check reviews for a 360 product you are almost guaranteed to find at least one ranting post from a PS3 fanboy. I could almost understand their need to defend the PS3 a few years ago when there weren't a lot of games for it, but now it seems like some PS3 fanboys have just become deranged. Their reaction to anyone who didn't give Uncharted 2 a perfect score is the most recent example. It looks like the PS3 wins the award for most extreme fanboys this generation.

Before you start yelling that the xbots are worse let me just say you're wrong for one reason. The xbots were pretty crazy early on, but once they had to acknowledge the RROD a lot of that fanboy fervor dissipated.

^Probably, but tbh all fanboys are no better than each other. Even if one console is beating the other in sales, any fanboy can be an ass whether it is trying to defend a console or enlarging the dick on their head from stating theirs is the best regardless of the possible faults.

I just feel if you like a particular console, just f***ing enjoy it. There's no need to waste your life 24/7 trying to defend an electronic box [although I may be a hippocrite for saying this due to my previous posts, lol].
