Microsoft Xbox Community Product Manager Aaron Greenberg let it be known at the Pac Man World Championships, Godfree from Gamertag Radio, that Microsoft would be unveiling some pretty huge news on June 5th, 2007. Godfree had an exclusive. An exclusive so big, it could break the internet.

Find out what it was, after the jump!

What was the huge news? A new Xbox 720? Xbox HD-DVD games? Nope.
A new Pac Man game by the game’s original creator: Pac Man: Championship Edition.
WTF?

Yeah, Greenberg kinda oversold that one. Oh yeah, by the way Godfree didn’t get his exclusive either. Greenberg told the guys over at Kotaku who scooped Gamertag Radio with the supposedly earth shattering news. Cresente and Godfree made up and are blood brothers to this day. They even have plans to name future sons after each other. I can’t wait for that little Kotakina to make her first appearance on the GTR podcast.

While I love Pac Man: CE, earth shattering news, this isn’t. So, for overselling this Aaron Greenburg, you’ve scored the number 32 spot on Sarcastic Gamer’s Top 100 Gaming Moments of 2007!

Ah yes I remember this day. I was sick with absolutely nothing to do. He announced the big announcement in the morning and said it would come at noon. It was like a little ray of light in the otherwise boring day. When the clock struck twelve I rushed to my computer to see what had happened it. And at that moment I became just a little more sick.

Yeah, Greenberg kinda oversold that one.

I give Greenberg a pass on this. When you look at it as the the person that developed arguably the most recognized arcade game in the world and has reimagined it, it is a pretty big deal.

But I also understand being ho hum on the announcement. Personally I think its the best arcade hit of the year.
