The Wii Zapper seems to be getting low reviews on all the major gaming sites, but for some reason I can't seem to put mine down. I love this thing, it improves my aim and brings back memories of my arcade days. Maybe it's because I'm a sucker for light guns. Anyhow, I'm planning to pick up Ghost Squad soon, regardless of review scores.

So what does the community thing of this Zapper? Am I alone?

This one is better IMO

Yeah the light gun brings back memories of playing Area 51:)

I think the only game i would get for the wii zapper would be Ghost Squad because i like arcade games. I love Time Crisis and that but I would also get House of the Dead III and II return. Read the wikipedia article.

It hurts your hand to hold. Seriously, I only use it for Link's Crossbow Training.

It seems to me like everyone thinks it's gonna work really well without having to change a thing but it wont!!

Am i the only person in the world that realises my tv isn't a sensor! So when i point my remote at my telly it's only being displayed in relation to the sensor on top, which means unless you can re-calibrated so the sensor can judge your tv size on any light gun game they try and release, you just gonna have stupid cursors all over the place which really sucks!

I haven't actually used one yet so if i'm being really dumb please tell me!

What? Then how do you hold the Wiimote? It works dude. The sensor for Wiimote to Bar is the black thing on the tip of the Wiimote.

If they just gave us a lightgun, (but a cool looking one) it would be better than the zapper

What about Medal of Honnor Heros 2? I have heard alot of people enjoy playing that with the wii zapper, though I haven't played the game yet myself.

It sucks. Hardest thing ever, and I just use the Wiimote by itself.

The Wii Remote isn't a direct pointer anyway. I can't imagine how any of these peripherals improve the experience what so ever.

It sucks. I got it for Link's Crossbow Training (I love Legend of Zelda games!) and it has never been a good experience.

I heard that the game was pretty good. I haven't gotten to play it yet. I had a chance to hold a Wii zapper, however, and all I have to say is...

CRAP!

I think its one of nintendos worst contraptions.
I heard that games for the zapper are horrible with them, but are epic without the zapper.

Not all of them. I just played Ghost Squad, and it kinda worked.

You are exactly right my friend! it's just the same as sticking a bloody golf club on the end!!! it's going to add nothing more to the experience at all! F*#king casual gamers piss me off man! "it's just like the real thing" bollocks! The wii is on the edge of a very cool thing that could really add a lot of immersion into games but it's not there yet! and what we're left with is a half arsed wiggle stick!! am i wrong when i say the best games on the wii (mario galaxy, Zelda) hardly use the motion sensor and would work just as well without it!

I've had a little rant and i feel a bit better for it now!

happy new year!

I have to say i agree that the zapper is for the most part useless. Having only played Umbrella Chronicles and Links Crossbow training, i dont have much experiance with it, but it always just seems to get in the way.

This one is better IMO

That, however, looks amazing. When can i get one of those?

I mean, just when I thought Nintendo could sink no lower (after "Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast") they released" Links Crossbow Training". The Zelda series, once untarnished in its glory, has sunk down to become a stupid minigame. Now some people think that the game is quite good. I won't dispute that, having never played it w/o the zapper. But its the idea of it. Zelda is meant to be an epic quest. And link is supposed to be an ARCHER.

They could have at least honored Link's downfall by making the zapper worth picking up, but NOOoooooo.

Is it fair to say nintendo is turning an it's loyal fanbase completely!! will there be anything left for me to play in a few years time!!!.... wait i've got an idea!?

Everyone that sadly held out some hope and bought a "Wii Zapper (what a name!! lol)" should stick it under their coat and go rob your local game store for a 360 or a ps3 so you can actually play a few proper games this generation! (maybe wait a few months with the ps3 not really much to do there either yet?)

i bought a wii zapper mostly for the game (im too cheep to shell out another $50 so i settled with $15 (i got it through my bro who works for nintendo)).the sad part is the the game disk dose not work. whenever i put it in and try to run it i get an error message that says "an error has occured. please remove you disk, turn off the console and refier to your user manual for troubleshooting. i followed the troubleshooting and still nothing, Its not a scratched or dirty disk and i dont think its my console (all my other games work). today i called the nintendo tec support and talked to a nice lady, she suggested i try it on a different wii and if it still dose not work i should return it to the store i got it from (like i did not think of that). anyways i hope i can get it replaced soon.

Wow, so much hate for the Zapper. I just picked up Ghost Squad and put the controls to "Wii Zapper Mode" and it's a great game, pure fun.
