Well this is my first review for the SG so bear with me it might not do so well

Story: Like most mario games the story begins with Peach's kidnaping, However this time the villain isn't Bowser, but a guy named Count Bleck

So Count Bleck's plan is to create a Chaos Heart (I haven't played the game in a while so I probably screwed up the name) so he can destroy all worlds and create his own perfect world. To create a Chaos Heart he has to have... a wedding between Peach and Bowser. So basically that is the story in a nutshell, I don't want to put in any spoilers so I won't go into more detail.

Gampeplay: This is where I lost hope of the game being as good as the last Paper mario games. In the last paper mario games when you fought an enemy it was a RPG turnbased type of thing where you picked your attack and did it or you used an Item. To get into a fight with an enemy you had to run into them so fights were usually avoidable.
In super paper Mario to kill an enmy you jump on them or hit them with a hammer or item, no turns, you just hit the enemy and dodge their attacks (if they have any besides running in to you or jumping on you.)
Now we come to the difference in leveling up. In the previous games to level up you had to get 100 star point and when you get them and level up it allowed you to pick what you wanted to level up HP, FP (energy for special attacks), or BP (how many special attacks/abilities you are allowed to have).
In Super Paper Mario you have to get a certain amount of points to level up, and each enemy you kill gives you a random amount of points and to level up you. When you level up you don't get to pick what you increase, the game will either increase your attack power or your health.
The game is mostly a Sidescroller with some 3d thrown in for puzzles and other things.
You have 3/4 characters (depending on what part of the game you are in) that you can play with each with their own abilities
Mario who can flip from 2d to 3d
Luigi: who can jump very high
peach who can float gently to the ground with her parasol
Bowser: who can breathe fire
With these characters you get Pixls (which function much like the partners in the last games)
Throeu (may be misspelled): who can pick things up and allow you to throw them
Boomer: he blows things up
Carrie: He carries you across spike pits and other hazardous things.

Presentation: The game is funny at some points and overuses toilet humor at others, however the best part of the game is the famous Nerd Level, those of you who have played it will know what I mean. Some of the villains are odd. Most of the Residents of Super Paper Mario are blocky characters that are just... odd.

Overall: the game is dissapointing to me because I enjoyed the 3d and RPG elements of the last games yet this one is lacking alot of both. Not to Mention can someone explain to me how in the First 2 paper Mario games mario goes into space and is able to breathe yet in this one he can't? Anyway if you want to play a Paper Mario game I recommend you buy some wii points go to the VS and download the original because It is way more fun then this one.

note: I know this review sucks

I thought it was a pretty decent game. The 3d element was a bit of a stretch, sense in a way it removed some of the paperness.

While it was a change of pace from the previous RPG's, I thoroughly enjoyed what I did play of this game. I love the concept of the "Paper" integration into the gameplay and the graphical effects that are used for it... maybe it's just me, but I liked it...

yes but here's the thing the last 2 paper mario games had more "paper" aspects then this one, especially the GC version Paper Mario TTYD
