This summer, I will most probably be visiting the United States.
I'm starting to plan the trip right now, so that I could book everything in advance and encounter no problems in the future.

It'll definitely be just the east coast (have to visit New York, probably DC, and I've also heard that Boston has a lot of museums and other attractions) and possibly the Great Lakes (I have family in Chicago, will have to go there).

Could you guys suggest some places I could visit, apart from the obvious tourist destinations?

Thanks.

Philidelphia is nice, if you can get their Ben Franklinness.

Try Florida. Nice place gets hot sometimes but you'll ignore it.

I will try to do that. Depends on how much time I'll be able to spend in Chicago. Oh, and I will definitely be doing some gaming-related shopping there (the cheap games + the cheap dollar = w00t!), so you could suggest some places I should visit ;)

I guess it'd be too far away from Chicago... I will be travelling with my family who lives there, so it could be quite inconvenient for them to travel such long distances, considering they actually work in Chicago.

That makes two of us :D.
Well, where exactly are you going?

New York New York
Yeah, it's definitely worth visiting. I actually like going to museums, and there are a LOT of them in NY.

I had around the same idea as you, actually.
I'm probably going to see the major attractions on the east coast and visit the main cities ( especially New York ).

I'd also like to see some of America's nature, so the great lakes and thereabouts will definitely be on my itinerary too.

And, off course, cheap game shopping.

Unfortunately I don't have any relatives in the USA, so I have to rely on the more expensive equivalent ( a.k.a. hotels and motels ) unfortunately. Off course, this does mean I am not bound to the Chicago area :p.

But right now, it's just a general plan, I haven't planned anything specific yet. Maybe I should get started too...

Haha, are you telling him to visit me? I would suggest that, except Chicago has about a million more interesting things to see.

psh, we all know that Americans are clearly superior to Europeans in video games.

jk

Actually, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not great at gaming. I love playing them, but that doesn't change the fact that I suck at em. Besides regua should be site-seeing this beautiful country, not sitting in a living room playing games.

Remember about the regionalisation of games... you'd have to buy a console there as well to be sure you will be able to play them. I was thinking about buying stuff like accessories for my 360, because they are cheaper in the US as well.

You know, Chicago also has a lot of beautiful places to see. Like... erm... hmmm... the Navy Pier and... and... well, Chicago also has a lot of beautiful places to see.

Well, actually Chicago is in the Great Lakes area, so you may be interested in meeting Lono. Unless you're one of those "I don't like Lono, he's a sucker, but I won't mention it on the forums so that I wouldn't get banned" people - I know we have a lot of them here :D

But right now, it's just a general plan, I haven't planned anything specific yet. Maybe I should get started too...
I'm doing it right now mostly because I like to have everything booked some time before the actual trip. I don't trust the last minute offers, even though they are usually cheaper.

I'd have to stay a few months in the US to visit the whole country... going to the west coast would make the trip too expensive for me.
I'd really like to see Vegas and all the locations where I used to kill terrorists in R6, though...

dont go and meet lono he will eat your soul so he can spend more time on his 360 (:
Yeah, I'm quite afraid of that. That's why I didn't give him an unambiguous answer whether I really want to meet him ;)

I will be the second to admit that Yousty isn't great at gaming.
