In light of the recent blurb from Electronic Gaming Monthly, Ubisoft has made the decision to fight back. Why pay off the real journalists when you can just create your own media source?

“Everyone knows gaming companies bribe news sources with information in exchange for a…more favorable viewpoint, ” said an Ubisoft PR Representative, “in this case we’ll just be cutting out the middleman.”

The print magazine will feature only games developed by Ubisoft, plus anybody with $5000 and a game to sell. For those of you anxiously awaiting updates on the next console version of America’s Army, a chilling eighteenth conclusion to the Myst series, or a sequel to the very successful XIII, you are going to have to break down and subscribe.

Good news, though. The magazine is free with the purchase of any Sam Fisher action figure, with real light up nightvision goggles! I recommend using it to spy on creepy neighbors, misbehaving children, and rogue CIA agents.

When EGM was asked to respond to the situation via e-mail, their only reply was “F**k those Frenchies. Let’s play some COD4.”

If only they did. You would expect un-biased reviews.

could you imagine an E.A one?

you'd get the same review for each game with certain words changed to make it work for whatever game the review was about.

then the magizine would be released again and again, with a different cover..

They would just edit normal games mags before release using the powers that be. This would make the majority of their games look significantly less shite.

Actually, I wouldn't consider this story too far fetched. While I don't necessarily see Ubisoft being the ones who would do this first, but I wouldn't put it past someone like EA to do this...
