by Jeromy "Doc" Adams

Linden Labs may have outlawed gambling in Second Life, but the fact remains that it is still okay to have carnal knowledge of a donkey within this haven for twisted behavior by people lacking the social skills to carry on a meaningful First Life. And what better way to illustrate SL's pathetic shortcomings than in a little musical number?

Sarcastic Gamer humbly offers our latest Parody song, "This Second Life".

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD "THIS SECOND LIFE" (http://www.docadamsaudio.com/sarcasticgamer/ThisSecondLife.mp3)

We're going to put the flame suits away, as its doubtful than any SL "players" will be able to pull themselves away from their virtual cesspool long enough to listen to this song.

Enjoy!

Two thumbs way up for the song "Doc"! You hit the digital nail on the head. The hypocrisy of Second Life and up and coming others or wannabes is they draw more adults than teens. But maybe we all need a second life. To each their own I guess, a piss poor pseudo-matrix ("ignorance is bliss")
What's that you say "Doc" everything in moderation, doesn't the term second life stretch that a bit.:)

Don't assume that the software is at fault, it's people who suck, not Second Life. At a glance what one usually sees in Second Life are the dumbest people using free accounts to brain-fart their time away. There are, however, some highly creative persons and organized groups in Second Life who conduct educational seminars and classes for RL and also for for the game itself. There are art shows, book discussions, current event debates, independent movies screened, role-playing of all types. So much more.

Second Life rocks if you do. If you're in idiot there are plenty of other idiots for you to commune with, too. My point is: it's totally up to you what you make of Second Life.

Check it out sometime:

I think this is the first SG parody where I'm unfamiliar with the original version, but the subject matter and lyrics are spot-on.

I wish you'd chosen a different image to represent the game though - it's not exactly work-safe. >_<

Geez, great song (once again).
However, "How to kill your brand" is the best and most unique one. I still hope that some song will beat it in the future.

You used my favorite band's song!

Glad to know that somebody else likes Hootie & the Blowfish

To ghoti: The original song is "Let Her Cry" by Hootie & the Blowfish

Lol, that IMVU messenger thing.... yeah totally NO life.

Oh god, my girl made me try out IMVU and we both ended up condemning it to the recycle bin. That thing was such a paid-avatar content piece of trash.

Lol, I was just talking about Second Life in the PC gaming forum. I tried it the other night out of boredom and was just disgusted. It's not that I don't appreciate the concept, but I wish Rockstar Games or any developer with experience would make a game like this and actually give people some objectives to do. As it stands now, it's just a big ass chat platform with inferior graphics.

I did go to a Second Life strip club the other night and was completely bored!

Let Her Cry by Hootie and the Blowfish. My guess is you'd know it if you heard it... BTW, how old are you? This song reached #2 on the Billboard charts in 1995.

Side note: Why are there so many with a Join date of 12/31/1969?
During the SG forums convertion from yaBB to phpBB script, all join dates stored in the database were changed to 01/01/1970. Then, after the forums' script was changed to vBulletin, they were changed again, this time to 12/31/1969.
Although it's quite a common problem, these changes are irredeemable; they are caused by one database field (the users' registration date) being reset to its default value (0), and - because it's in Unix time format (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_time) - the saved date becomes exactly midnight of January 1st, 1970, which is interpeted as 01/01/1970 or 12/31/1969 (depends on the script's settings).

Thanks for the explanation. I thought at 1st maybe it was actually birth dates - then, wow a lot of people born in December of '69.
I figure I probably actually am the only one who was. LOL

I reset the profiles I had to edit to the original forum's creation date. Everyone else is unique. ;)

I manage to play Second Life for hours on end, but of course, I count asleep as playing... Whats truly amusing is these... rather creepy people called Goreans there, you build somthing "midevil" and flashy, theyll snatch it in a heartbeat, and pay... pretty disturbingly high prices for it...

Oh, yes, Ill admit the Havok 1 engine graphics are on par with the vernerable Legend of Dragoon... but I find the most amusing part with that.. stomach churning game is the fact you can make a disturbing amount of actual cash.. but gods. most of that song is so true.

And dont forget, like mentioned in the song, most those that are female in game, are sure packing offline. *laughs*

So, I gotta say, for every 1 song or video that you guys do that's really hilarious, there's about 3 or 4 that are pretty lame... I didn't even recognize this song that was drilled into my head in the 90's until the last half of the chorus. Why is Kermit's nephew Robin trying to sing a Hootie and the Blowfish song? I could really care less about second life, I think it's lame too, I just think you kinda phoned this one in... (just keeping ya honest!)

Later, Hater!

Hey anyone that sees this.

Wanna help out Sarcastic Gamer? Post a link to that song somewhere.

We never sent out a press release on it because of its.... PG-13 content.

Much obliged there, street team.

Caught the end of ABC's show i-Caught tonight where they were talking about Second Life and conducted an interview in Second Life with 2 people who started a relationship after meeting in the game.
I DVR-ed it because they were going to have Will Farrell's The Landlord on it tonight, so I'll see what else they were saying about Second Life later when I watch it. LOL
