View Full Version : Introducing yet another piece of crap...
Ploogle 01-12-2008, 05:13 AM I give you...
...the Wii Helm (http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/wiihelm.shtml?cpg=50T)!
...
Okay, it might not be TOTAL crap when used with this (http://wiihacks.blogspot.com/2007/12/head-tracking-vr-using-wiimote.html).
NecrisJ1MM 01-12-2008, 05:42 AM OR you could use... DUCT TAPE \o/
Ploogle 01-12-2008, 05:46 AM BUT, does Duct tape have the Wii Helm logo on it? I didn't think so...
...and Duct tape would leave a sticky residue on the Wiimote...not to mention pull some hair! Ouch!
LEGEND 01-12-2008, 07:37 AM I was still undecided whether to buy a Wii or not. But this has definatley made my mind up...
Diortem 01-12-2008, 08:46 AM ....I have no words for this....
or for anyone who cant play Wii for more then 10 minutes due to fatiuge.
strika234 01-12-2008, 10:59 AM and besides wii sports, its super inconvenient for every other game!!
try playing brawl like that...
Ploogle 01-12-2008, 12:06 PM Strika, you couldn't play brawl with that. You MIGHT be able to play a racing game, but ONLY if you didn't tilt the Wiimote on the side...which it's not. Doesn't look like it uses the Nunchuck controller at all.
zbiggie 01-12-2008, 01:32 PM wow, that video officially made me hate the wii
This has to be a joke, but even though I do see a possible use for this. What if they made an FPS that required the use of 2 Wiimotes, one, which would be in the Wiihelm, would control the camera(s), while the remote in your hand could be the targeting reticule... it would almost be as if you were looking around... it could work... maybe... sort of...
Diortem 01-12-2008, 06:07 PM No... and while its not a joke, it's also not officially supported... think of it as a Sped-cial edition of the tennis racket shell.
iPlayPC 01-12-2008, 06:31 PM Hell, that helmet would proably make your head fall off from playing wii sports.
Mallico 01-12-2008, 06:56 PM "If you thought playing Wii with the Wii Remote made you look retarded, wait until you try the new Wii Helm!" Seriously though, no.
Amathev 01-12-2008, 07:14 PM I'd like to try it, but I wouldn't buy it.
MisterCinders 01-12-2008, 07:22 PM This peripheral would enjoy much better sales if there were some games that exploited its potential.
For instance, an updated Leisure Suit Larry for the Wii could include mini-games like "Head bobbing challenge" that could showcase the Wii Helm.
MisterCinders
Ploogle 01-12-2008, 08:06 PM They do NOT have a LSL for the Wii...do they?
strika234 01-12-2008, 08:08 PM whats an LSL?
SWSilentkiller 01-12-2008, 10:57 PM last line of my sig, read it
strika234 01-13-2008, 12:10 PM yeah, the johny lee thing with Head tracking would be awesome. I would rather do that then get wii fit.
Ploogle 01-13-2008, 04:29 PM whats an LSL?
Leisure Suit Larry. Basically something that Jack Thompson should be up in arms over instead of GTA.
Duffman X18 01-13-2008, 04:39 PM Turn that into a device for the head tracking software and your good. Otherwise send it off to the landfill.
Tinman 01-13-2008, 08:17 PM For my 400th post I would like to tell these people something simple.
WTF!!!!
daCooksta 01-14-2008, 04:24 PM How many peripherals are there going to be for the Wii???
There are the sword/sheild things for Zelda...
The tennis racket, bat, golf club for Wii Sports...
The Guitar Hero 3 Guitar...
The WiiFit Board-thing...
and now a helmet?
Granted, most of those items are 3rd party...
but still.
roosoh13 01-14-2008, 05:07 PM don't forget the wii gun thing for umbrella chronicles and archery whatnot
Millakilla 01-14-2008, 05:56 PM Doesnt matter how bad the products are mental people will still buy them for their kids.
So until they stop selling, these crap products are still going to sell lol.
I think this has a more significant meaning........its a head gear so you dont get knocked out by other peoples wii motes....... i don't know its a guess
Ploogle 01-15-2008, 09:07 PM Probably not...this looks like a ThinkGeek.com exclusive, and they're notorious for ridiculously unnecessary geeky items...and this definitely qualifies. Even more than the tea that they sell that's hand-picked by a rare species of monkey...
