The original Headset that came with the 360 is O.K. but I've been using the Plantronics X30 Xbox 360 Headset (about $30 U.S.) headset for almost a year and Love it. It has good voice and sound quality, is comfortable to wear and has noise cancellation so you don't hear much back ground noise from my end.
However the ear piece crapped out on me tonight so I'm trying to decide if I should get a new one or something different. I don't like how the M$ wireless headset sounds - especially when someone gets that weird water sound interference on theirs - and $60 just seems too high.
So I thought I'd check with you guys and see what you have and like.

I'm using the MS wireless one because the Sound quality is okay and I can use it for my WoW Sessions on the PC as well.

I got the wireless headset for Christmas...I haven't used it in months. It's too much of a hassle.

I have to use actual headphones with the mic bomb becasue I usually game at night when my wife and 8 month old daughter are sleeping. I'd go with something like the "EarFroce" sets from Turtle Beach.
Good luck!

I use a wired headset as I got the core console at the start of the year. Works fine.

I use the official wireless headset because it was released around the same time my dog decided to chew the wire of the wired one.

Just bought a new Plantronics X30 today at Target. As I'm opening the package I notice it has a 1 year warranty. Not sure how long I had the 1st one - probably about a year now. Doesn't matter anyway, I took the old one apart last night trying to see if I could fix it - nope.
LOL
I'll save the package this time so I remember the warranty, if it breaks again.

I noticed at best Buy and EB Games these headsets are about $25.

The M$ wireless headset SUCKS!!!!

I rarely used it and after like a month it just stopped working... $60 freaking dollars down the drain.

Not to mention the crappy connection range and horrible sound quality.

Apparently the Halo 3 one is going to have better quality and not be as much of a piece of crap. I still have two wired headsets, one from my xbox and the vision camera, so no need to take another M$ chance.

I love my M$ wireless headset and have never had a problem with it. I get better voice quality with it than any of the wired headsets I have tried, including the Plantronics H2 headset.

However I am going to be getting a set of the Tritton AX360s soon.

Your wireless headset will break soon... very soon... Actually, maybe taking good care of it and rarely using it, is what makes it break.

yeah buddy......those are the BEST!

as an fyi....if you go to www.charlieoscardelta.com and look at all the play testing pictures there for COD4 you'll see all the testers using the same headset at EVERY station...

It's the AX360

That's for a reason people!!!

Tritton AX360. I bought these during the Halo 3 beta and fell in love. Best gaming investment I've made.

Dang, just over 5 months and the new one died on me last night. Once again if I spoke they could hear me, but I could not hear anything - dead ear piece.
So I was madly searching for another headset as the round of COD4 was getting started - Arrgghh.
Maybe there's too much static electricity in the house at the moment and it got zapped. I don't know.

Just called Plantronics - I have to ship it out to them in Santa Cruz, CA. and they'll ship me a new one.

Started contemplating the M$ wireless again, but nahhh. Too expensive for the poor audio quality others have to deal with.

I rarely ever use headsets in any games on any platform.

I used to... I think I've just gotten to the point that I sit there looking at it, and I remember what it was like the last time I used it and I weigh which is worse... losing a potential advantage by not chatting, or learning some new (and unsavory) swear words or having 12-yr old punks tell me how they're going to rape various members of my family (including myself).

Yeah, I usually leave the headsets in the drawer. I've got two wired ones for the 360 and a Motorola H850 for my PS3. Can't remember when I seriously used any of them. Probably the last GCN game night I attended. I don't care to chat with absolute random strangers.

Original Xbox headset, here's the diagram...

My wired broke (stepped on it and broke the jack). Got a wireless, broke (decided to stop charging). Ordered a replacement, halo 3 broke my order. Gave up hope and got an original xbox headset, wireless came.

I've had the MS wireless headset since it came out and love it. I use it several hours a week.

I know some folks have had problems with it, but mine has always worked fine.

It's esp. nice with games like Rock Band, where the extra wires just cause all kinds of problems.

I've got both headsets, I like the wireless but the wired is easier to mute - I dont talk very often when I'm playing with randoms and I only keep it on to see if I'm missing anything.

When I bought my 360 it never came with a headset (Maybe it's because it's AUS).
I bought a wireless one.

My Plantronics X30 is in the process of being replaced on the 1 year warranty, but I can't stand the standard headset that comes with a 360. So I finally picked up the wireless headset.
I tried it for a little while when we played on Friday night, but not enough for a positive or negative review yet.
It is very light & comfortable to wear though, so I like that.
Sound quality did seem better than the standard 360 headset.

I did have 1 problem. It only works with 1 of my wireless controllers.
I guess the one that did not work was the one that was boxed with the 360.

Ive always fancied one of those Turtle Beach headsets with the ear phones and mic all in one. Sadly you cant get anything like that here in the UK without the horrible import fees and mark ups.

...so i make do with the wired headset.

I really do like my Plantronics X30 headset for sound quality (with noise cancellation) and comfort.
You can find them for around $25.
The only problem is I've had 2 of them die on me, but they do come with a 1 year warranty.
Good for my cordless phone too :)

I've been thinking about getting one of these, there's quite a price difference between the Turtle Beach and the Tritton AX360. Is the AX360 way better than the Turtle Beach stuff?

I was at my local target yesterday looking for 360 gear and I saw the xbox wired headset. They had it for 50 bucks, usual price for Australia. Then I saw a madcatz one for 10 bucks. So it was 40 bucks cheaper, and it looks exactly the damn same. Why would I pay the extra 40 for a xbox logo?

Okay, I admit I am yet to test it, but I am looking forward to it!

Halo 3 Wireless. It rules except for when the batteries run out and I have to run around my room mid-game and try to find the wired one.
