View Full Version : Knocking on 2 Million

A few months ago I did a parody for my friends over at Gamercast Network called "How to Kill Your Brand". A couple of people made YouTube videos of that song that got a lot of attention. Today it's sitting at 1.6 million views and climbing. I think when it hits 2 million I'll open this mini bottle of tequila that my friend brought back from Mexico for me. Maybe do a line of Oreos. Here's to 2 million views. Unreal.

Congrats on the milestone... you deserve it, that song was great!

The entire song is fact too ;D
I can use these arguments to taunt at my PS-fanboy friend

Any chance to get the song as an mp3?
Please add that as an option to the blogpost! Canīt be that much work since you must have the audiofile lying around somewhere. :)

Thanks!

This one isnt that funny. Most of it isnt true, and if you have seen the recent actual gameplay trailer from killzone 2 and dont want that game, then theres something wrong with you. A single level in that game takes up 2gb of space, so the blu-ray point is no longer valid anymore. I'm not a fanboy or anything but most of the song isnt true. Xbox 360 and PS3 rule!

a lot of people seem to take Doc as a 360 boy, which is funny, has there is TWO microsoft songs, as well as TWO sony ones. If anything, he is a Nintendo kid

The Red Ring songs went soft on Microsoft... it was supposed to be critical of them yet praised Xbox Live, praised the game selection, pointed out repair shipping is free, etc.

Very little mocking or sarcasm (but it was countered by an admirable JC impersonation).

I'd like to hear a Microsoft parody with fangs... Peter Moore's jumping ship now, maybe that'll spur some creative juices...

Well, Doc isn't going to lie in his songs just so some PS3 fanboys will be happy. Xbox live is what most people desire. They also beat the Wii and Ps3 in highest rated exclusives, and most exclusives.

Hmmm... I smell something... smells like a fanboy. There's PLENTY to poke fun of on the 360 without resorting to lies... if you think there's not, then the smell's coming from your direction. All the camps have problems.

I wrote two 360 parodies myself but am nothing close to a singer... and they have no lies in them.

Please let us know how many people need to find it funny before we can make fun of it. Maybe we could form a committee or call TBS.

I watched the video about 30 times until the "no freakin games" video appeared on youtube, which advertised the sarcasticgamer website. That is how I ended up here, this is a great website you have going.

It's over 2 million views, Doc That means you have to do one of the above. I vote for you doing the line of Oreos and you have to record it because it would probably be the most hilariously painful thing ever. Probably funny enough to get more views than the How to Kill Your Brand video.

But seriously, congrats on all the views. You're a creative genius, Doc. If it weren't for that song and the Big Ass Table parody, I probably wouldn't have found this site. Just think how bored rothbart would be if he didn't have me to argue with all the time, and how depressed Lono would be because he wouldn't have somebody that agrees with him most of the time.

I first saw it on Game Trailers a while back and no joke i must have watched it 50+. I LOVED it and thought the song used was a clever choice ( I loved the orginal too you see)!

....fast forward several months and i find this great site and community with a funny MS Surface Paordy Video. I join and love it.

I then find out later that my new fave podcast is responsible for that great song i liked! A spooky but fun coincidence!

anyways yes, enough of my autobiography due to publish in 2026. Good job Guys, Much deserved!

That was probably the best song you have ever produced. Congratulations.

Now, as a guy who looks to the future, I have to ask, are you planning on doing a new song that would outdo the How to Kill Your Brand song? There's plenty of games and topics there for you to pick off, so WTF are you waiting for?

PS: If you need help with the lyrics (not that I think you would), I am a songwriter myself.:)

Blasphemy!!! Read Lawrence's post. Based on facts? Probably... Not only was this song catchy, it was very funny. That is why it has had so many views...it deserves the credit it has received... Although now that Lono has a PS3 , and Dave may get one, this song loses some of its edge... still very good though.

Eww. Mac image on my PC. Eww. Use a PC for images. Eugh...
Mac's aren't built for watching videos and browsing on youtube. They're built to put videos on youtube. Simple. (their inbuilt webcams are amazing I have to admit...Everything else. No. They are not built for gaming. It's shocking. Why buy a PC if you don't want to play games on it, especially an expensive one too. (Btw, slight sarcasm here.. LOL. ))
