Well, our first Hump-Day Update came out today. As part of the bi-weekly updates, we’ve begun issuing end of the week predictions. My first prediction was that people downloading and playing Undertow would crash the Xbox Live Servers.



Guess what? Find out, after the jump.



My prediction came true.


Turns out, a ton of people wants them some free gameage and took to the internets to get them some free stuff. When they logged on and attempted to download the game, they received this message:
“can’t retrieve information from Xbox LIVE. Please try again later.”
Great, just friggin great. On the other hand, I need to go buy a lottery ticket. See ya later.

Hmm...I got it fine... Yea, I took the opportunity. My dad always said, "If it's free and someone offers you it, take it"

ROFL. They offer a download-able game to make up for online problems and it crashes their servers EVEN MORE. That is just priceless.

Ironic, don't ya think? I had trouble getting mine, but after 2 tries, I just scrolled down the list slowly and got it. Wouldn't have bothered if we were playing it this Friday, to tell the truth, I still don't think it's very fun.

i got that error message but when it appears you just press B button and it will load the content so its a crash but i still got it even though im not a big XBLA player.

I got it because it's free. I've never paid for an XBL Arcade game and probably never will. I had no problems getting the download to work though...

Just for fun I figured I'd download the free game too. It wasn't much fun. The download worked like every other download... no issues, no hassles. I was looking forward to the issues and hassles. I was disappointed.

Undertow? Oh yeah, I'd already written the game off as crap from the demo. I was impressed by it at all. I was way more interested in the actual download process.

It's received some pretty high scores on most of the major websites. I think it's kinda fun. i'm looking forward to Friday to test out the multiplayer.

I didn't get the error message but it did take over half an hour to download. It was going about 2% every minute when normally it takes me about a minute to download 50MB.

I've downloaded the trial before, so the full version was just one click away from me. The game sucks, but I always get as much free stuff as I can. Always. It's a pity I can't get the free EGM subscription...

XBL seems to be liking me recently, I don't get magically signed off and I can play without any glitches. Nice.

My connections really hit and miss, one night its clear skies, next night its an absolute nightmare. Maybe its more internet provider than XBOX Live.

Anyway, Undertow is a terrible game, reviews or no reviews. It's boring, it reminds me of asteriod. I'd have preferred a free britney spears theme over that piece of doo-doo.
