We have 3 pictures of ads on the internet, from circut city, walmart, and toys r us, that claims the 360 premium is dropping 50 dollars. These ads are scedueled out for august 8th. tell me what you thiink.

I'd say it's more then likely true, but only in America and Canada. Microsoft are making an announcement this week and it is probably regarding the price drop.

But then again, it could just be stores trying to outdo the others by dropping the prices. So, you never know. We'll just have to wait and see.

sweet guys, i have been waiting for this so i can get my own 360, mostly cause of halo 3, but alot of the other games looks cool like dirt, i played the demo on my friends 360 and it was sweet. i also owned the demo, so i can oficially say that i can beat a racing game!

After having worked in GameStop myself (part time), I must admit that they know a lot more then they pretend to when it comes to those things, and that it isn't a great place to work.

I'm told it's a pretty decent job. Sure, you have to meet sales quotas, but that's not a big deal.

So would that mean the Elite and Core will drop in price as well?

I think someone said "Sony announced a $100 price drop? We need one too! $20 off the Core, $30 off the Elite, and $50 off the Premium... $20+$30+$50=$100. Good job guys!"

And as someone over at GCN pointed out, now the difference between Premium and Elite is $100 instead of $80. While both prices are cheaper, that's an interesting dynamic to ponder...

I've had a couple of friends get 360s in the past couple of weeks, and they were extremely happy that they could save $50. Lucky. =/

I was more angry when they announced the Xbox 360 Elite, because I had just got my 360 for Christmas. But, that didn't stop me from getting the 120gb HDD the first day it was released :)
