So is anyone gonna get the new Gizmondo releasing this year? I was one of the unfortunate people who got suckered into buying a PSP, since Sony has completly stopped supporting better features on the old PSP, and im not gonna put in the money to buy the slim.

If the Gizmondo is powerful and capable of homebrew (Not the piracy kind, the normal kind), I might look into getting it. I think its safe to say these guys are doing any sort of money laundering or anything like that.

They're bringing back the Gizmondo? I thought it was dead after all scandals about the swedish mafia etc.

Thanks for the link!

Hehe, interesting, i'm looking forward to see the new edition. =) The gaming market needs more competition anyway, even if it feels a bit hopeless, especially when it comes to handheld consoles where the DS is pretty much dominating. But you'll never know ;)

Well face it, the handheld market is a one man show right now, because Sony can't get its security right with the PSP. No one is even bothering to buy games for, the irony is, its the same thing the Dreamcast went through, only its hurting the PSP more. The DS is selling like crack, even though alot of games don't even utulize its main selling point, the touchscreen!

Looks like crap, no offense. I don't see why you would want it with the DS and PSP obviously having the better hardware. In my opinion, it's like eating crap when you could be eating a plate of the finest spaghetti you've ever tasted. (I like spaghetti! :D)

...Not to mention that it'd be extremely embarrassing to be seen playing that thing in public.

They haven't released specs or even a design for it yet

I thought the picture on Kotaku was the new one. It had better look nicer at least...and it doesn't sound like the kind of "gaming system" that would have decent specs.

If you think this is going to have better homebrew than the PSP you're 'arving a larf. There was a lot of impressive work on the GP2X but it was easily overshadowed by what you could do with the PSP.

I think that was the old design, anyway, the PSP is crippled in terms of good homebrew portable development in a way. Sure theirs custom firmware, but where are the better browsers, 5th gen emulation, etc. The problem is it lacks in memory, the GP line is pretty impressive in those categories.

But that doesn't matter if there is going to be barely any support for it.

The original Gizmondo had some really neat games that were going to come out for it, like Colors, that was a neat idea, hopefully we see it on a console or a PC version of it.
