The page says that 169 members have visited the forums today, but then it says that the most members ever visiting was 201, today.

Were did you get 201???

"Most users ever online was 391, 12-03-2007 at 02:47 PM."

edit

NVM, found it, huh that is funny, maybe they kicked a couple of users and its just a counter that they have up, who know....

Doc does, lets ask Doc,
Doc why is it that it says the most is 201, while the counter says 179?

And why does it say the most in one day is 201, while i'm pretty sure that 391 is almost double 201?

@OP: Maybe there's a difference between "being online" and "visiting the forums" >.>

That's a different issue.

Most users is 391, most members is 201.

Okay, this is what it means:

"Most users online in one day" means the total number of people that at least visited the forums that day. If I visit the forums today (which I have, duh), then my name is registered as having visited, and the counter is incremented.

"Most members visiting" means the most people who were ever on at a single time.

One is members and one is total visitors. Hope that clears it up.

Heh, everyone is wrong. Both those numbers he is citing are just for members that have logged on. It puzzled me for a bit too whenever we crossed that threshold of Most Members.

The problem is time zones I believe. If your timezone is set differently from the default of Central Time, things look a little ****ed up. The record for most members in a day is for Central Time, and the other numbers appear to be for whatever your time zone happens to be set to...maybe. But this is the only thing I could think of that makes sense, besides some database error.

Volkov: Nope. It's like Lono said. The 201 number is the amount of registered forum members that have visited over the course of a day. The "most users ever online" number includes non-registered (or non-logged in) people that are visiting the site.

Both say 'members'.

Total members that have visited the forum today: 160.
The most members online in one day was 206, Yesterday.

I recognize that another one says 'users'. But the OP never mention anything about users, and is probably talking about what I am talking about.

It might be a typo...

I believe that may be the answer.
I just changed my timezone and numbers were immediately different.

PS: Everyone making the "users vs members" arguement did not read the OP right :p

One is members online, the other is members online who visited the forums.

The stats are mixed up, because I added the script that showed the total members online at the end of last year, when our biggest day was at the beginning of December...therefore explaining the discrepancy. Until we get more than 391 people online at a time, it's going to stay like that.
