View Full Version : What about Mega Man?
Tinman 01-24-2008, 07:54 PM He was the guy that really got me into video games. My first was Mega Man X4. The best of the X series in my opinion. I was wondering who else loved the android in blue armor. Zero is also awesome.
I want a new Mega Man game that isn't for the handhelds! I'm just saying that the Mega Man game that was on Gamecube called Mega Man X: Command Mission was alright. I want a new one!
gory zj 01-24-2008, 08:33 PM I love Mega Man, the classic NES-series was a very important part of my childhood, especially Mega Man 2 and 3. One of the best things about the games has to be the soundtrack, it's legendary!
Tinman 01-24-2008, 08:35 PM I always loved exploring the abilities of his fallen enemies. They were insane!
gory zj 01-24-2008, 08:38 PM Yes, that too. And to build up the different strategies on using the new abilities to beat the next boss more easily. Ahhh... those were the days.
Tinman 01-24-2008, 10:45 PM In Mega Man X4 I learned the best to defeat each one with.
First beat the Spider with the Buster
The mushroom with the Spiders ability
Peacock with the Shrooms ability
Owl with the Peacock
Dragoon with the Owl
Walrus with the Dragoon
Sting Ray with Walrus
Sting Ray for Tiger
I could also beat the Walrus first and use the Tiger to beat the Spider. Very technical stuff.
NecrisJ1MM 01-25-2008, 01:15 AM Megaman was great, i remember the old games and me trying to pass it over and over again. But the megaman games pretty much died off after he went 3D, not sure why, but they just sucked.

I agree, the Nintendo 64-version was horrible.
MeggaMan 01-26-2008, 11:11 AM Oddly enough I never played mega man. My name is almost completely un-related
Mitch808 01-26-2008, 05:18 PM I think Mega Man is a pretty cool guy.
Seriously though, the games were tough and required you to memorize the levels off by heart. Still a really fun game though despite being incredibly frustrating.

yeah the only good games that came for mega man were the 2-D
as for the new ones the only good ones that I played were MM battle network series 2 and 4 the other games sucked.
NewBreed 02-12-2008, 11:13 PM Which Megaman game was the fighting type of style...? Instead of going through levels you could choose anyone from megaman to be(I THINK) and fight all the others. I think it was on Super Nintendo... =\

It was an arcade game, however the name escapes me at the moment. But it was a damn fun fighting game; you got the opportunity to pick which game you want to fight enemies from, and each successful obliteration of the foe. You gain their abilities and can switch between them to fight the next one. Great graphics and fluid gameplay mechanics made it really fun. E.] The game was Mega Man: Power Battle, with the sequel entitled Mega Man: The Power Fighters. Both were released on the Mega Man anniversary collection for ps2.
My best memories of the blue bomber come from the NES games. I still have most of the levels from 2 and 4 memorized. Although I still have a heckuva time with the Quick Man level. All those lasers shooting through each section while you have to dodge them and hope you don't get hit.
Although, my favorite one was the first X game on the Playstation. Not sure of the number, but it FINALLY gave mega man leg joints. The ability to duck was amazing after not having that option in the previous installments.
Mega Man Legends, I quite enjoyed. I found it to be highly entertaining without having to deal with the tried and true repetition/memorization of the past games. Not to mention that you were able to create your weapons and upgrade them to be super powerful. I remember spending hours upon hours at the beginning of Legends, kicking the soda can into the recycling bin for the 1000 credits/zen/zenny/pesetos...
Tinman 02-13-2008, 05:33 PM Legends kicked ass
JAcK0R 02-14-2008, 11:51 AM I've never liked the old NES Mega Man games, and X was still too hard for me, but I fell in love with the Zer series on the GBA. It balanced the difficulty to beatable, but it was still a fun challenge.
Plus, Zero is a more likeable hero than X or MM was.
infernal 02-14-2008, 02:25 PM Not only a new Mega Man game, but why the hell isn't he in Smash Brawl?
I don't own a Wii (for now), but there's almost 10 characters from Brawl I could easily replace with Mega Man, geez.

I really don't think that Mega Man, although the awesome character that he is, would have been a good choice in Brawl. He would be to much like other characters(Samus/Kirby/Link). He would have his buster(Samus), he could possibly use the Z-sword(Link) and he would be able to absorb characters powers(Kirby). He would be to over powered as a character if he used all of these powers. There are already to many characters in Brawl that have repeat abilities, do you really need another one.
George McBain 02-15-2008, 01:20 AM I would like to see a Mega Man (or Rockman, as he is known in Japan) game on the DS akin to the recent Castlevania games also on the system ... a touch of RPG with a lot of exploration.
We are due a really good, more old-school MM game instead of the Battle Network ones. I don't like them too much.
EDIT: Apparently there are two games on the DS like what I mentioned, Mega Man ZX and Mega Man ZX Advent ... I will have to get them from Gamefly to check them out.
one95876 03-20-2008, 04:30 PM They should make one for the 360. Then you could battle online too.
Doty Tha Great 03-22-2008, 11:23 PM LOL i liked fighting the penguin on Mega Man X, cause it was like wtf.
