What's your favorite game genre?
If I forgot a genre, sorry, I'm sorta wired right now.

Games I've spent the most time on.

Age of Empires II
The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind <3<3<3<3<3<3 ( oh gosh, so many hours of my life wasted in that game...time well wasted none-the-less.)
Call of Duty 4

I guess the game I've enjoyed for the longest amount of time was Morrowind so I guess RPG wins. But Age of empires 2 and COD4 are very close.

I definitely love Strategy and RPG, but nothing beats a good shoot 'em up.

Shooters, mostly. I like all genres, but shooters trump all :)

I grew up playing Goldeneye and Perfect Dark for the N64. Most of my games are FPS.

I always liked RPG, since the first games I played, it just seemed my type of genre, I also like shooters, adventure, a few fighters, but RPG tops them all.

Hate sports, and I'm annoyed by music/rhythm games not sure why...

i enjoy FPS games, but right now, i don't think they need any help being recognized... i'm sick of seeing so many shooters coming out... really. i put RPGs, but adventure games (holy broad genre) i enjoy a lot as well... as well as sports games... and music games...

There's a difference between strategy and Real Time Strategy.
There's a difference between First Person Shooters and Third Person Shooters.
There's a difference between RPG's and MMORPG's.
Hack 'n' slash could be a valid genre as well.

etc etc >.>

You just can't have enough options in this poll if you ask me :p

I chose RPG coz there are the games that hook me in the most but I'll happily play any of the genres on the list except music/rhythm - they just don't do anything for me.

No room for the puzzle genre? You've made a million Boogie Bunnies jobless, not to mention the countless number of Tetris tiles that just feel like they don't 'fit-in' with the rest of society.

I made it broad enough so it would encompass all the little Genres.
Shooter has FPS and 3PS, Strategy has RTS and TBS, and RPGs has MMORPGS too. Hack n' Slash might fit into Aventure.

Shooters Is what I play mostly but once in a while if I get board I'll play an RPG or something.

I love shooters, especially if they have an RPG element to it. ex Bioshock, System Shock 2.
All strategy is good the exception is MOO3, damn that was trash.
RPG, pure I hate can't stand it, unless everyone I know is playing so there is someone to play with at any time. ex. Diablo, WOW, Dungeon Siege.
Basically everything else is when I just need to do something since I am really bored, and need to waste some time.

I will play any genre of game but my favorite is rpg.

I love how role playing games offer lots of hours of involving gameplay that you genuinely get caught up in, they also make you care about the character on screen Aeris death in final fantasy 7 is a good example of it.

And i just love the storytelling element in most role playing games the way they craft engaging and exciting story's that is why it's favorite genre.

I'm a Shooter fan. I can't go more than a few days without playing a game where I can get a headshot.

My personal favourite is First Person Shooters, mainly 'cos most of them contain a continuous stream of action, not many slow bits, so it keeps me entertained for longer

Picking genres is hard for me. My method is two categories: Good games (eg. CoD) and Bad Games (eg. Beautiful Katamari)

I really love games that have persistent base-building in them, so you'll go off and do missions and your home will gradually get bigger or more decorated or more people will start living there.

So far, the best uses of this that I've seen are in Skies of Arcadia and Little King's Story.

Do we know any more of these? Man, I love that stuff.

Nightkiller93

While i do love shooters, adventure games are my favourite genre. Games like Uncharted, Mass Effect, Half Life and arguably Fable and Fallout interest me more than any shooter ever could.
