Before we enter a new era of CE silliness with the inclusion of a safety deposit box with the GTA IV: CE, I would just like to see what people think of the extra content that came in previous CE we have seen.

I personally like the metal boxes, so I was a little disappointed with the CoD4 cardboard effort and the Halo Jesus Helmet has just left me with a headache (not coz i try to put it on, just coz I don't know where the hell to put it) but both had good extra video content, with Halo cinematics being worthy of a special mention and I wonder whether other franchises will follow suit. Warthog Jump was also a nice bonus.

I think that art books are a bit of a waste of time but if you are going to make one then I'd prefer the GoW style rather than the lets-just-get-the-people-that-do-our-instruction-booklets-to-make-them approach that Mass Effect took.

The Family Guy: Blue Harvest (very funny) boxset that I just bought came with a T-Shirt. I don't know why more games don't do this as its an extra most people would be happy with and a good way to promote the game.

Also in the halo 3 CE I LOVED the calibration disk with it.
Surprisingly it is a really good one.

Yeah I like this too. Bloopers are always funny. They could put in something that explains the back story.

Hell I hope the Box sets for GTA4 and Fallout 3 are good. GTA4 is a maybe, I'm thinking that i'll wait and something along the lines of halo mask, is going to happen when stores just drop the price really low. But the Fallout 3 Box I will get the moment it comes out, It will be amazing.

Good soundtracks. I wanted a CD of all the songs playing in Bioshock (like in the record players) but instead there was a bunch of Mobey (however it's spelled) songs. I kinda felt like I got ripped off.

Yea, that was BS. Plus I remember in the Box set you were supposed to originally get a metal case, you didn't. But at least the figurine is pimp. at leasts they did sort of release a down-loadable version of the game score. Which was decent. I really hope that In FO3 they give you a vault shirt (preferably with the #13 on the back of it)

Personally I usually buy special editions for the sweet cases. Splinter cell Chaos theory had a very bad*** CE box.

I like the shiny boxes, they seem sturdier than most. Good for beating people over the head (as my friends during the halo 2 release can attest to) in a fit of rage after being gibbed.

As for what I like, I like extra pictures and stuff that looks cool sitting on a shelf (big daddy statue hellz yeah). I liked the stuff that came with the PDZ CE, like the comic book and extra image stuff packed in. If the CE can make for some good porcelain throne reading material, then it's ace in my bag.

Although there are times where I draw the line in my geek obsessions, is when the pricetag goes beyond justification of the game i.e. Halo 3 legendary edition. If I would've purchased that set, the only use I can see for the helmet was as an explosive containment device.

I like to see lots of behind the scene video documentary on how the game was made also interviews with the directors and designers.
And having cool extra stuff like the big daddy figure is fine by me.
I also want game soundtracks included on a extra disk not like the poor bioshock music disk that had 3 songs on it.
Songs like beyond the sea should be left in original form not remixed and ruined.

I don't believe in "collectors" editions anymore. There's really nothing to collect, and there's so many of the bloody things out there that it doesn't matter if you have it or not since everyone else does as well.

"Collector" editions are just a gimmick companies do to squeeze a little more money out from gamers. What are you collecting in those boxes? A music CD or artbook that can be easily copied and printed online? A case which is made out of a different material that will scratch up your disk? How about a figure that was made for 50 cents and looks like crap?

If you like "collector" editions of games then good for you. I'd just rather call them Special Editions, cause that's what they are. They're not meant to collect, only to add on what the original package offered.

A human head, maybe of the main character or voice actor...'nuff said.

Posters are always cool--got a nice little collection on my walls. A behind the scenes disc with outtakes is always good too.

Lost Planet had an exclusive multiplayer map (that I downloaded but never played) in the CE. I hate "exclusive cars, maps, characters, etc." because that's one less DLC for the Marketplace.

Guitar Hero 3 should've come with that "Companion Disc" that had 10 songs from the game and came with that code to download 3 extra songs...if not that, then a pink bra autographed by Judy Nails.

A reason to care.

Mine fell two feet and the arm broke off.

I think some console CE's are more-or-less subpar.

T-shirts, figures, art books are all pluses.

My favorite two recent CE games have been the WoW:Burning Crusade one and the one for Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castlevania:_Portrait_of_Ruin#Pre-order_bonus). As for movie CE's, I love my Princess Bride Fezzik T-shirt
