View Full Version : Road Rash!
Gruseaux 02-04-2008, 05:55 AM Any fans? I wasted many a weekend playing the original series on Megadrive, and later had all my dreams fulfilled in Road Rash 64.
I still play and love the 64 version (courtesy of Surreal64 on the Xbox these days). It's pure bang-for-your-buck, loungeroom full of laughter, slapstick roadkill awesomeness. For replayability, it's got to be my number one - I just can't get sick of it after all these years.
Man I hope someone revives the series some time soon. I want next gen Road Rash like, now.

Rekenmachine 02-04-2008, 09:43 AM Oh yea, I remember this game, it was one of my favourite games when I was a little brat ten years ago. Something tells me I shouldn't have been playing these games when I was 8, but I'm the perfect proof violent games do not make kids violent, actually on the contrary in my case. But I'll leave that for my psychiatrist.
I played the pc version, and at the time I had no idea it was about illegal street races. I knew how to race, how to hit others, and I knew how to buy a new bikes. The other things slipped past me because my knowledge of English was nonexistent back then.
I'm gonna see if I can find my old copy of the game. I feel like beating the sh*t out of other bikers, for 'old' time's sake.
Oh, and is this game the one with the squirell or something walking up the road, and almost getting run over in the intro? Or is my memory messed up again?
Meta666 02-04-2008, 10:34 AM Damn I love this game. I hated the UK track, because the incoming cars were on the opposite side. The African track had stupid bulls/cows on the road. But I loved pushing other motorcycles into those bulls :D
MightyMutt 02-04-2008, 12:31 PM Didn't have the 64 version but I loved I & II on my Genesis (Megadrive)
I posted a while back asking people what Franchise they want to see reborn and my vote was Road Rash. It would be great over Live/PSN etc.
VinDali 02-04-2008, 06:47 PM I loved them on Genesis too.
My brother in law still asks me if a new one will ever be coming out.
It would be a great Xbox Live arcade game.
MartinBlank2007 02-04-2008, 07:59 PM Great game! Hours upon hours were spent in the basement playing that one. Almost come close to the Holy Grail of Sega games NHL93. Does anyone remember the version of Road Rash that came out for the PS One? Think I still have it in a box somewhere. Should take a look and fire up the old PS2. Get to work Microsoft and port some of these classics to the arcade. I'll spend some Microsft points on those.
Gruseaux 02-05-2008, 02:01 AM ^ Yeah, I think there were two Road Rash titles on PS1. One was called Road Rash: Jailbreak. They didn't stand up to Road Rash 64 though - partly due to poor graphics, but mostly because RR64 is the most combat oriented release of the franchise. Where the Sega and PS versions contained some violence, RR64 is an epic high-speed brawl from start to finish.
Apparently there was an Xbox version on the cards a couple of years back, but it got canned. What a kick in the crevice. :(
kdawg12 05-07-2008, 02:22 AM played a newer version of this game about six years back that was absolutley awesom it was Road Rash 3-d for the ps1, me and my buddy played for hours on end beating each other off of the bikes with bats, chains and other objects or just using the fist or foot, i don't even remeber how many hours were spent playing that game
lazarus585 05-08-2008, 11:42 AM Yeah, I still play the megadrive ones.
LewisRocks93 05-08-2008, 01:42 PM YES :D
I Loved road rash but because i was like 6 when I played the first one I was unaware of any sequels.
Still...
They should Bring them back on PSN and XBLA.
That would be awesome!
Mitch808 05-08-2008, 03:36 PM They should Bring them back on PSN and XBLA.
That would be awesome!
An online mode would be fun as hell.
I used to love the music in Road Rash so much.
strika234 05-08-2008, 04:06 PM that sounds like a cool game to make...
rashanii 05-08-2008, 05:42 PM These games, and Skitchin, the inline skate version of road rash, stay firmly atop my favorite games of childhood. Right alongside Mutant League Football.
