ok, i am looking to get some better games for my PSP than are currently out so im thinking different console games. ie if my PSP was homebrew could i get say n64 games on it? or GBA games on it?

Yes the PSP has over 30 different emulators available. So you can play N64, SNES, NES, GBC, GBA, Genesis, Master System, turbo grafx, CPS 1 & 2, Playstation 1 and quite a few other systems games on a psp.

dam, at risk of sounding retarded. it wont work. i says to extract the files but its not in a compressed folder

Is it in a .rar? And what wont work? Be more specific. You cant just download homebrew and put it on your psp. You need to have custom firmware first.

It's either a *.rar file, which you can extract using Winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm).

Or it's a *.pbp file, which is basically a *.exe for your psp, just put pbp-files in the appropriate map.

i got it now. damn it i never thought this would take so long. so before i do anything do i need to downgrade to 1.5 before doing what it says in the link sinfulfate gave me?

The guide isn't wrong so if it says so then yup. Jumping into psp homebrew now is difficult especially if you bought a psp slim and kept upgrading it to Sony's firmware.

Ya, looks like you came into this knowwing nothing, im surpriesed you didn't brick your psp. I'm on version 3.53. =[. Ive stopped updateing it, hoping a downgrader will come for my version.
