I personally have been almost wetting myself in anticipation of valve/turtle rocks new game Left4Dead. The precise release date of this game is still to be announced but it is suspected to be a late winter release (southern hemisphere) meaning august or september according to an interview between valve and shacknews. i recently discovered that there will be no cross-platform gameplay, meaning that i as a console gamer will not b able to play with any of my PC gaming mates.
i understand that there may be problems with lagg or whatever but it is still a bitter dissapointment not to have this feature

in saying that the lack of cross-platform gameplay doest sour my expectations or hopes of this game

and so my questions to you are these, Has anyone else been keeping tabs on this game? what is your oppinion on a co-operatively based online zombie survival horror? does anyone else think that the quick speach automated menu with over 1000 different pre recorded unique lines(per charachter) is awesome!(even if i will use my headset)
ok thats it and remember with zombies always aim for the head!

I have been following this game for a while now and after finishing Dead Rising a while ago I am Hungary for some zombie!

The concept behind the game and the gameplay sounds very promising and a lot of fun but I am a bit skeptical as to whether they will pull it off. I hope so.

The game does sound like a hell of a lot of fun to play with friends etc.
I didn't honestly expect this game to be cross-platform..
Think of it this way. If they did that they would also have to do it for the ps3 as otherwise there getting screwed over and there would be a backlash against Valve..

The only game to date which has done cross platform was Shadowrun.. And you could always tell when someone on a PC was in the room as it would lag constantly, almost unplayable.

Cant wait for this game, I so excited - feel my nipples!

Not too bothered about cross platform though, it'll just bring up the whole mouse/keyboard Vs controller debate again.

Cross platform play won't ruin this for me. This game has been something I have wanted for years. Finally a good coop Zombie game!!!!!!!

The early video that I saw looked like the game is going to be very frantic in a good way. I think Valve purchasing Turtle developer is a very good sign that the game is going to be awesome. Can't wait to kill me some more zombies.

yea they are actually doing this with the counter strike source engine so thats a pretty accurate statement.
i love the fact that the zombies are more like those out of 28 weeks later (ie fast and strong) rather than the slow stupid traditional ones
