View Full Version : How many games do you own?
zbiggie 02-20-2008, 01:27 AM I was just wondering, how many games do people actually own on this forum?
And which platform do you really concentrate on in the overall picture.
Personally I have over a 115 games probably its closer to 150 with most of them on PC. I do have some xbox and NES games bot not to many.
PacManPolarBear 02-20-2008, 01:50 AM Somewhere just shy of 500. About 300 PC titles, with rest being a collection of Xbox, PS1, PS2, PSP, and Sega Genesis games.
If I still had my Nintendo collection it would be even bigger. Plus, I have some REALLY old TG16, Atari and C64 games around here somewhere.
Mallico 02-20-2008, 02:11 AM I didn't actually count them, but I have a ton of games, I'll ballpark some of them for the sake of the topic:
PS1 - 5
PS2 - 25-35
Xbox -10
Xbox360 - 10
GBA - 10
NDS - 3
PC - 5
N64 - 10
Retro - 20-30
When I get a game with 0 replay value I usually trade it in.
Wow Polar, 300 PC games?
PacManPolarBear 02-20-2008, 02:26 AM ^ 18+ years nabs you a lot of games. They're the only gift I ask for on Birthdays, Christmas etc... And I take care of them and rarely, if ever, trade or get rid of a PC title.
Keep in mind a lot of those PC titles are indie (which don't cost much) and/or presents my gamer friends have given me. Especially over the last few years (say 2000 onwards) I have managed to acquire most of my friends PC collections since they can't really sell/trade them in like console titles.
I'm a sucker for classics.

Ditto,
When my parents divorced I had left most of my games at home since the apartment we were moving into just didn't have the room, I'm talking about my NES and SNES + Genesis games. At home and all of them in there original boxes with manuals. That was probably about 150 to 200 games.( all of them from a buddy who I bought it of off. ) Now when I went back to pick them up a couple of months ago I had learned that my mom had a garage sale and sold them all for about 40$. I called her a B**** and left. Haven't spoken to her since. (not because of the games but because of the whole divorce issue.)
Hell now a days I still like looking through the clearance bins in stores. Occasionally you find a classic in there that would be next to impossible to find anywhere else on the shelves.
animathias 02-20-2008, 04:49 AM Not as many as I would like. I'm one of the guys who trades in alot of stuff, and I don't really look back. Hopefully the day will come when I'm financially stable and can afford to keep on gaming without ever trading anything in.
sreeja 02-20-2008, 04:51 AM I have 0 - 50 Mostly PC.
ChorleyDominic 02-20-2008, 05:37 AM I had a crapload of PS2 games, but they went in the trade-in of winter '07. I'm down to casual gamer numbers like 6 xbox 360 games now!
the 6th degree 02-20-2008, 05:38 AM I only own 10 games at the moment.
I must go through around a hundred a year, but I use Lovefilm to rent most of them and trade in ones that I own but dont play anymore.
I used to collect games and had around a couple of hundred, but I never played on them and they were only collecting dust.
PopTrogdor 02-20-2008, 07:14 AM well im always broke, so i hardly keep most of my games, ive easily OWNED about 500 games in my life but do i own 500 now? No, more like 35, got around 13 PC games, 8 PS3, 6 PS2, and 8 PS1 games (i have more but my sister nicked them, if i had all of my ps1 games, it would easily be another 20 PS1 games :D)
Artemas 02-20-2008, 08:39 AM I don't keep my games any more, I only buy games that I liked from gamefly, and then trade them back in at gamestop when I don't like them any more.
34 total
9 360
17 PS2
8 xbox
I have about 40 snes games, 10 xbox games, and 20 360 games.
I'd say I have been through hundreds and hundreds of games but I used to be the type that traded in my games to get the new release. I am a bit older now and can afford to keep my games due to my well paying job. The collection has just begun. On that note; does anyone have a virtual boy they are trying to get rid of? ; )
LEGEND 02-20-2008, 10:36 AM I have a shelf's worth of PC games, and some more in a box in my closet. I try to sell most old games though.
iPlayPC 02-20-2008, 11:28 AM About 60 pc games, and some gamecube.
mipon 02-20-2008, 12:22 PM Not man, I trade in most of my games, as I can't afford them with travelling for work, rent and everythng like that. I've owned hundreds since the days of the Master System though, but now I have maybe 25 games spread accross my PC, 360, Wii and DS.
Once things settle down though I'd like to start collecting my games now, and the ones I have at the moment I doubt I'll trade in.
Chexd 02-20-2008, 12:43 PM I dont really own that many just because I trade in a lot. I only keep the very special ones.
zbiggie 02-20-2008, 02:17 PM wow a lot of people trade in their games, I personally would have never guessed that people do that. I think that is pretty useless. And you do end up getting ripped of by the stores
landshark68 02-20-2008, 07:50 PM I am in the same range as PacManPolarBear. I still have around 25 Atari 2600 cartridges, 25 years of PC Games (which is why I cant even guess at a real count), around 15 PS1, 10 PS2, 1 PS3 (so far), 40 Xbox games and 45 Xbox 360 games. I tend to sample games (playing a few hours at a time on one game before bouncing to the next one) and I do a lot of renting via Gamefly now (to try to keep down the accumulating - problem is if I like the game and it has replayability I will buy it, so it hasnt cut down my purchase count too much).
I dont tend to sell games back (I will typically lend them to folks at work instead) and I will occasionally dig up an old classic to play again (if I can get them to work on the newer os of course).
Probably the better question to ask would be whether the people are completest or samplers of games (I am a decided sampler).
Spoofmaniac 02-20-2008, 08:18 PM I live in a big gamer community, and I never played my PC games so I sold them all and made almost 2000 dollars. I sold a lot. So now I have like, 20 games.
Sn4tcH 02-20-2008, 08:59 PM 4 Game Boy
3 Game Boy Color
10 Game Boy Advance
9 NES
19 Gamecube
7 Nintendo DS
5 Wii
12 Sega Genesis
3 Sega Game Gear
54 PS1
45 PS2
111 PC
I know there's more, that's just a quick count.
Lemonite 02-20-2008, 09:56 PM I used to have about 250, but they were taking up too much space so I sold most of them and put the others in storage.
DemonicDerek 02-20-2008, 10:47 PM Since I am very cautious about what games I buy, I'd rather not have to deal with constantly returning games... mainly because it would piss off my mom who doesn't have the time to constantly run me to gamestop if I wanted. However, I generally just buy video games and play them until I have sucked them dry of their fun.
meean Luc 02-20-2008, 11:08 PM I do have 68 PC Titles, 34 Xbox titles, and 6 Playstation titles, so that makes (68+34+6=...108!) So I have 108 total titles. I like my large games shelf.

we call it "demo-ed" that way no mention of cracking, or hacking, or stealing is on this site
Plissken 02-22-2008, 07:33 AM Got 12, but only because I am boycotting the sale of GRAW and BF2MC on ebay.
Oh and someone has borrowed my PGR3 and I can't remember who it is.
Was it you?
codespace 02-22-2008, 10:39 AM I don't play PC games; don't feel like making that kind of investment. And I typically trade games that no longer hold any replay appeal for me. Why bother holding onto games I'm not going to play?
Mallico 02-22-2008, 02:45 PM Oops I totally forgot about my Gamecube, probably around 8 games for that too. Poor cube, always getting left out.
the 6th degree 02-22-2008, 02:54 PM wow a lot of people trade in their games, I personally would have never guessed that people do that. I think that is pretty useless. And you do end up getting ripped of by the stores
It depends how you look at it - as I've said, I'd love to keep all my old games, and in a monetary sense, yes the trade in values are sh*t, but I had a PSone lying arond that hadn't been switched on in over a year - I traded that in with 20 odd games that I hadn't even thought about since I finished them, and traded the lot in for my original xbox......
Yes they should have been worth more, but I didn't have the cash for the xbox and I dont regret the trade for the enjoyment I got out of my xbox...
The McMurder 02-22-2008, 05:38 PM I easily have over 100 mostly xbox (52) 360 (10) PC (20) ps2 (30)
all of those but the original xbox are estimates
keep in mind that most of these were bought used or were gifts
Ploogle 02-22-2008, 11:54 PM I have around 7 Wii games, 9 Gamecube games, a few for the PS2, 5 or 6 for the DS, and 3 or 4 PC games that are really worth playing. (Unless you count Microsoft Visual Studio or Flash as a game...)
Blaze 02-23-2008, 12:01 AM honestly i had about 100+ games in between all of my systems (xbox ps2 wii gamecube computer ect.) then i lost all of them in a house fire... now i dont know if any of you remember what life was like back before you had video games but lemme just tell you... it sucks
solarmystic 02-27-2008, 05:34 PM Disclaimer:- I lived in Malaysia, Southeast Asia when i got my PS1 and 2, so original games were nearly impossible to get. Besides M'sia was at that time "demo" central of Asia i think
PS1- 30, 10 "demoed" in Zbiggies forum friendly terminology.
PS2- 90, 40 "demoed" in Zbiggies forum friendly terminology.
PC- 115 over 8 years
GBA SP - 3
Ash1402 02-28-2008, 01:23 PM 44 games
32 for 360
8 for wii
4 for PS3
Mr Eibmoz 02-28-2008, 03:33 PM about 25 360, 6 PS3, 10 Wii and a few hundred retro all the way back to Yars Revenge and River Raid ^_^
ildreancipher 02-28-2008, 03:53 PM Yes, I probably have about 15 Xbox Games, 50 PC Games, 7 Wii titles, 25 Gamecube, 30 PS2, 17 N64, 20 DS, and about 70 or so retro stuff.
Diortem 02-28-2008, 06:36 PM I stopped counting at about 110.... Most of which were PC, but honorable mentions to the Cube for almost breaking 10... and I didnt count individual titles... as bundles would have killed me!
Brian 02-28-2008, 06:37 PM Wtf!!!!! I have never had 20 games and that was on my ps1 that I had 18!!! I only have one console now, my 360 only 6 games =(
Diortem 02-29-2008, 12:19 PM PC title count up (disecting bundles this morning) 120 (including download titles (SAM & MAX counted by season, not episodes). Suddenly I dont feel so bad to have over 40 titles to complete.
Mitch808 03-01-2008, 02:03 AM Over 100, most are xbox, but i also have my fair share of classic games that add to it.
Evl0ne 03-01-2008, 02:11 AM coming up to 40 360 games, 80 xbox, 30 ps1, 24 gameboy (mix systems), 5 gamecube, 32 n64, 52 atari, 52 sega master system, 60 megadrive, they are the ones i know i have more systems but they are all packed away & if you have a spare 2 months you can count my pc games, i'm not even going to try..
mrpuggywuggy 03-01-2008, 05:24 AM I have 7 xbox 360 games plus 5 xbla games.
4 on the ps3 plus 7 psn/ps1 download games.
8 for my psp slim.
I would have a huge collection of games, but i trade a lot of my old games in.
piston11792 03-01-2008, 10:49 AM mabey im wrong to do this, but i never keep a game forever unless its like halo 2. i only own about 10 360 games at a time but so far ive probaly bought 30. it just makes sense to me to sell back games i wont play. im not a collecter
50ish mainly pc a few 360 and ps3
about 20 of them from steam
TheQwert 03-06-2008, 04:03 PM wow a lot of people trade in their games, I personally would have never guessed that people do that. I think that is pretty useless. And you do end up getting ripped of by the stores
I'm surprised to see that as well. I did that once and I regret it to this day. :(
Didn't get anything back on GameStop.
PopTrogdor 03-06-2008, 04:56 PM as the other thread a while ago, i have owned around 500 games, ive owned probs 100 PS1 games, 140 PS2 games about the same in PC, 50 for master system, mega drive and mega drive 2 put together, 10 Dreamcast games so far, 20 PS3 games, 15 Xbox 360 games, and 60 Gameboy games including colour.
that comes to 535 games, but of course, its only an estimate, AND at this time, i only own around 50 games across all platforms, i traded in ALOT of games, as I'm usually broke :P
PopTrogdor 03-06-2008, 05:00 PM sorry double post, i cant delete my reply above me, just realised i have already posted in this thread :P was so long ago
About 500 games for at least 9 consoles and...wait a minute...12 PC games :)
n00bhunter 03-09-2008, 08:12 PM i own just under 50 pc games selling all the ghey n00b ones i bout years ago though like tiger woods pro 2003 rollercoaster tycoon 3 and hotel giant (my god that guy sucked crap like seriously it was the biggest piece of crap ive ever played)
Black Lace 04-07-2008, 02:03 PM I've got somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 games. Most of them are for my PS2, but I'm building up my Xbox collection slowly but surely.
codinthepocket 04-07-2008, 03:10 PM Not really sure. I had a browse through and came up with some rough figures:
Xbox - 3
360 - 8
PS1 - 2
PS2 - 3
PC - 4
360 - 4
PS3 - 6
PSP - 3
Wii - 1
So as far as I know, 33... Not many but I trade B]A LOT![/B] and buy newer games for a lot of older ones... I think it's a good deal seen as though I don't play the old games anymore...
RatTail 04-08-2008, 10:53 PM God, I have a lot. (I'm going to go ahead an include brother and sister's games as well since I play them)
PC - 20 (I think. Cases are strewn about all over my room.)
Xbox - 6
N64 - 31
GameCube - 44
Adds up to be... 101. And that is after I sold my SNES with about 20 - 30 games. Also not including GameBoy games because I am too lazy to go and look (it's probably around 40 with my siblings' and mine combined).
strika234 04-09-2008, 04:49 PM I have about 6 games for each console; that is the ps2, the wii and the 360.
that's around 18....
