I was just wondering if the sarcastic gamer community knew any decent (preferably 3d) freeware/shareware games that were worth the bandwidth.

The first that pops into my head (being a long time pc gamer :D) is the trial version for a program called AudioSurf (http://www.audio-surf.com/)
Any other ideas plausable.

If you can still get it, the original Penumbara.... it's freeware (there are two commercial games following it).

Audiosurf is indeed an awsome game. But I suggest you pay for the full version to support future games in stead of playing the ( cracked? ) beta.

www.digipen.edu has some college student projects...

It might interest you to know that students from this college made Narbacular Drop. The same team was hired on by Valve to remake the game for sale. (And improved quality, of course)

wolf team isnt really free ware (theres micro transactions) but its free and graphics bout the same as CSS its really fun also Soldier front is pertty good but i quit that because i was a sniper i was get headshots pretty much every single shot i took and i had little n00bs telling the deveoloper (ijji) that i was hacking and i got so many emails saying you are under close watch now so im like you suck..so i quit but i might go back and play in a few years. it can be a bit 2 much like CS though

I hear Combat Arms is pretty good.

Combat Arms is nasty, it's full of CS Rejects but all Free FPS are.
I played Cross Fire and still do but it's amazingly simple because everyone is horrid at it.

Tag is one of the coolest games i've played. I really like the growing trend towards Navigation in games (Portal, Mirror's Edge, Paint). I'll check out the other Digipen games soon.
