What game has the most annoying "You killed me from twenty miles away through a building with a pistol" style AI ever? Like the game knew exactly what you where doing and just crushed your every move.

I've gotta say the jackal snipers on Halo 3's heroic and legendary for the first couple levels whooped my ass again and again.

Soldier Of Fortune 2.

The Jacks in H3 were nothing.

Puzzle Quest. Heres Why.

The first thing you should know about this game is that this game hates you.
I don't mean that the game is designed to go against you. I mean the game
hates you. The designers of this game created the first artificial
intelligence system designed to mimic the actual emotion of hate. When you
are sleeping, the game is plotting your downfall with all of your other
electronics. In all seriousness, you will constantly find yourself getting
frustrated with the random nature of the game. Many times, you will find
yourself crying foul and cheating when the game drops a +5 Skull in perfect
position for your opponent. Granted, the randomness will also help you every
once in a while, but you will swear that the game cheats for your enemy more
than it does for you. There really isn't much you can do about this aspect
of the game. After all, this is how randomness works.

Command And Conquer Renegade....

not so much the villains, as those you have to protect...
...who have deathwishes and run STRAIGHT for the enemy...
...who push you OUT of the way...
...and who are faster then you...

I honestly cant believe I stuck around long enough to finish that one!

And don't forget the AI in Mario Kart, which detects that you're winning, and speeds itself up!

the most annoying ai is one that doesn't speak with the graphics engine, I'm talking about Hellgate London, were I have a creature freaze moving in the middle of a doorway, and I can't jump over him, shoot him. but if I shoot in the direction were no creature is standing or a direction were the creature is attacking me from (invisible mind you) I'll see the hit points go down, and once it dies, its not the creature that dies but "it spirit". So its body stays there blocking the door until I reload the game, because the game engine never got the info saying that it was dead.

Worst allied AI is your partner in Army of two, but for most frustrating enemy AI I would have to say the Soul cube guardian on Doom3. Not only was he hard but I kept running out of bullets half way through the fight. The Vandrigar on quake 3 arena is a close second but takeing under consideration I was like 10 when I batted him so I don't know how tough he would be now.

This beats even Mario Kart. Introducing Natalya Fyodorovna Simonova, better known as Natalya, and the worm at the center of the delicious apple that is Goldeneye 007. Never, in the history of gaming, has one character AI caused so many headaches. You name it, she does it. Walking into enemy fire, into MY line of fire, opening a door behind me without warning, resulting in my shooting her, causing me to lose more missions than I can count, and she won't even let you kill Boris!

She gets taken hostage twice, and as far as 3D video game characters go, she is not hot. Why would I want to rescue this stupid woman?

In Dead Rising the survivors you need to rescue had stupid AI.

It was very annoying, they would just run straight into zombies, it made the rescue missions a total nightmare.

The most annoying AI has to be the Turrets in Portal. Not as in annoying intelligence, but the constant "Target lost" "Searching" "Are you still there?" "There you are" "I don't hate you" is REALLY annoying. :p

Navi from Ocarina of Time with her "Hey!" "Listen!" is the only thing more annoying.

their is a couple of games i played with extremely annoying AI one would probably be the sims2 for basically being too needy and no guns or any captain price in there also i would probably have to true crime new york because one time a dude came up to me and said you want a piece of me when i had a fire axe out and simply chopped off his arms

I didn't understand anything you just said.

Anyway. Yeah dead rising had really dumb AI. I always "accidentally" smashed their heads with a sledge hammer. good times though.

Oh yeah and Elder scrolls 3:Morrowind... RETARDED AI. they were so slow and they got stuck on fences, rocks, trees, bushes, other NPCs, carts, tables, (heh heh) lava, beds, and good LORD those damn telvanni tower hallways/"stairs". yeah escort missions in that game were a :shocked:BITCH:shocked: to get through. Other than that though... it was a good game

I LOVED the turrets!

Navi... ok, you are right... she was ALMOST as bad as they get.

The turrets were funny...but annoying after a while. It's great incentive to kill them, though.

I really didn't like AkuAku in Crash Team Racing. Every f**king time you finished a race, he would pop up and say stuff you already knew. Grr. Apart from him tho, i absolutely loved the game. My favourite ps1 game.

Counter Strike 1.6 bots. Some shoot bullets out of the their backs and get head shots from 500 meters away. Others stand idle, staring at walls.

As far as friendly A.I. goes, i would have to say Dom, from Gears of War. He was constantly getting in the way of my shots, and always having to revive him. But for enemy A.I. i'll have to go with the Empress of Time from P.O.P Warrior Within. I died so many freakin times.

My allies in Mass Effect sometimes get in my way and won't move unless I command them to go somewhere specific, but the combat AI in ME makes up for it I guess.

I get pissed everytime I get killed by a marine ally's frag grenade in Halo 3. It happens quite a bit, too, though I haven't played H3 campaign yet this year so it's been a while.

Just Dom? What about Carmine, Kim, Baird and Cole that constantly get in your way and screw you over? :p

At least you can revive him. If you killed Natalya, you lost the mission.

I would have to say that the original Crash Bandicoots on the ps1. It was at the time extemely hard and I lost many bandicoots during those times.

For ally and enemy I say every ghost recon except the first one. Team mates run directly at a tank even after I ordered them in the exact opposite direction. Then you got an enemy without NVGs shooting from the other side of the map at night dropping my whole fire team in three seconds. Though my favorite is when an enemy truck started to run over my guy and the game glitches all to hell because a truck can not run over a person for some reason in GRAW.

Yes, watch some American movie (probably a westerner for the most accented voice)
than a British movie (might I suggest Green Street Holigans? best movie ever)
and you'll be able to hear the difference in the accent and see why Americans think that Brits have accents.

Agreed. You can hear a difference between the two so therefore Americans think we have an accent and we think Americans have an accent.

Anyways back on topic:

I would have to say I find teammate AI to be far worse as they never do what you want.

If a bad guy has bad AI you just shoot him but if a Teammate has poor AI then the whole mission can go to hell.

I hate an AI you have to defend but they keep running into bullets like they are their long lost friends. Fortunately I haven't seen a "defend this guy" objective in a game for a little while.
