Once in a while I play GC games on my wii, LoZ WW, Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 just to name a few games. To be honest the GC was underrated, it had so many great games that may have gotten overlooked

There are some decent games for it, and since you can pick one up used in a 'buy & sell' with 4 or 5 games for maybe $60, why wouldn't you get one?
One of the best things going for it though, is that Phantasy Star Online was re-released for the gamecube. I LOVE that game! (Not the crap card game, the original one for dreamcast.) Resident Evil 1, Star Fox Adventures, Metroid Prime, Tales of Symphonia, Battalion Wars, Rogue Leader, Eternal Darkness... the list of good games goes on. Not to mention the great drunken party games like smash-bros and mario kart. And you can buy games for $4 - $10 each easy at EB Games. Hell, you could get them cheaper at a flea-market.
So again I ask, why not own one?

i still play it from time to time. It is okay. The graphics are pretty sound and the gameplay is good. I quite like the console. It was just overshadowed by the xbox and ps2. an underrated and (albeit too late) underbought console. It is a good console. 30 quid now. You can get the latest zelda on it too.

the problem is that today gamers only look for FPS or violent games like GTA,etc.Since the gamecube rarely got above PG-13 rating it dind't sell well.

Used to play Super smash brothers on this console with one of my friends even though the old version for Nintendo 64 was better it was still loads of fun.

I thought it was a pretty good console, and it saved space, but it did kind of lack in shooters. THe console was worth it in my opinion just because of games like smash bros, mario sunshine, zelda twilight princess, and resident evil 4.

I liked the GameCube. It had some awesome games. I still wish I got the Xbox while everyone was still all hyped up about Halo 2.

Got it cause there was a bundle with Metroid Prime... I wasnt dissapointed. Only got a few titles for it though... (PC gamer... literally it was there because it ment I had access to Nintendo's exclusive, the games that hit all three consoles, and the games that hit PS2, XBOX, and PC... basically anything I COULD want).

Technically I don't have a Gamecube, but I have a Wii that can play Gamecube games, so technically I can catch up on what I have missed from the last generation. The worst thing is I bought a lot of Gamecube games but I haven't played many of them because I don't really like the Gamecube controller.

Man, there were SO many good Gamecube games. Especially the ones that came later on in its life. Is it just my memory, or did the Gamecube receive a lot of flak early on? It turned out great in the end. Now, which Nintendo console does this remind me of...?

i got my GC for a hand full of games - 5 total, but found it really hard to get any games here in sydney, it was like no one was supporting it. so for me it was a lemon cause it had no range for me to try but it had potential.

Well if everyone hates him.. maybe you should hate him... Yea the GC is underrated and is actually very well made. If you want to save your friend... pay an attractive girl to talk to him. Number one enemy to video games is attractive girls.

Gamecube was awesome, great, fantabulous even. And it also had THE best exclusive character for Soul Caliber II, Link. Not insomuch that I want to be presented as a fanboy, but there was only one other place that you could whip someone with link, and that was in Smash Brothers.

Spawn, had a wide range of craptacular games, and Heihachi has been in every Tekken that has existed.

Some games just felt right with the gamecube, mostly the pick up and play timewasters that were suitable for people of all ages. At first it had great third party support, but as time went on the games became crappier and crappier. C'mon, Gheist? That game was pure shit in an outhouse. Just want to get rid of it and let it fester for the ants and worm to gnosh on.

Beyond Good and Evil, it feels like it was made just for the gamecube, the controls fit perfectly to the controller. Several other games felt like that, the SSX series felt great on it. Even the horrible worms 3D felt at place on the jovial little purple/black/silver/orange box.

Ghiest, I had the same issues I do with pretty much EVER FPS style game.... analogs.

I would give it another shot if it was remade for the Wii (but even I would demand a graphical facelift this time around).

i dont remember much about the GC. i dont know why. all i remember about it was i did not like the controler when i tryed it at a friend's house and i pretty much ignored it then. now that im older i decided to buy 18 games 4 GC controllers including the bongo drums and microphone for $85 from my friend so i can play it on my wii. right now i have not had much time to play the games but im glad i bought them.

I still play mine. I modded it because most of the good games are Japanese, if you don't mind paying around 60 bucks for a game in a language you don't understand it's a pretty good system.

I play it from time to time, SSX 3 is super fun. Also, Need For Speed Underground 2 is pretty fun to play. The only problem with the cube is that the controller kinda sucks.

The GC is so awesomely amazing hands down. I owned so many great games for the thing. My all-time favorite game for it was Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. I say it's also the last of the better Sonic games.

I had one in my house since about 2002 bc my sister had one and it took me 4 years to even ge a game for it. I bought RE0 and RE Remake only to play those before trying out RE4 and then MGS:TTS. I hate the controller and thats probbaly what kept me from doing more with the system

That little cube was such an awesome machine and I agree it was underrated. There were so many great titles including the Zelda games and the Mario games in all shapes and forms. However the problem for people that were not Nintendo fans already was it seemed to attract the "kiddie" image and in the UK as at least which may well have put may potential owners off which was an awful shame.

Like the Gamecube? I LOVE it! The only thing I play on my Wii at the moment is Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. When that's over, it's back to Wii games, but the Gamecube has such DARN good games! More than the Wii, but then again the Gamecube was around a lot longer, so it had a LOT more chance to get those games.

I still buy games for my Cube. And Baten Kaitos, Geist and Super Star Strikers are all on the list to be purchased at some point or other. Battalion Wars rocked the socks.

Last generation, I bought all 3 consoles in this order:
1. Gamecube
2. PS2
3. Xbox

Now I only have a 360, as Xbox was my favorite out of those. However, I did own about 27 gamecube games, 2 gamecubes, 4 controllers, and even some weird Gameboy thing that I could attach to the gamecube and play gameboy games on my gamecube. My favorite game was probably Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, or Mario Kart: Double Dash. I sold all that on ebay a couple years ago. Still have my PS2, sold the Xbox also.

I have about 30+ games for the little box of love. I got it for Christmas late in it's life cycle and I remember my parents asking if I was sure it was the console I wanted, cause the guy in the shop said it wasn't very popular and he'd recommend the PS2. Obviously he never played Rogue Leader or Wind Waker. Still playing it when I'm home as well.

I don't regret buying mine at all... Honestly, the only two games I ever really played on it were SSB: Melee and Mario Kart: Double Dash, but I played them A LOT.

Of course, I hardly use mine now, since I'm more into PC games and SSB: Brawl for the Wii has taken the place of Melee.

It's my favorite console ever. I have so many good memories from playing Soul Calibur 2, SSBM, and Animal Crossing with my friends. I wish it would have done better, because it was an amazing console. Actually, all I use my Wii for these days is playing GameCube games.
