Sitting in my chair, I just kept thinking: I've got to get the hell out of here. People around me were giving their life stories up, talking about their problems and all I kept thinking about was one thing:

PJM or Pixel Junk Monsters.

That’s how I found myself at my first meeting of PJM Anonymous.

I never considered myself an addict. When all of my friends were playing Call of Duty4 or Rainbow Six Vegas, I just wasn’t that in to it. For me PJM was it. One day a friend shared PJM with me and I just kind of liked it. The days would pass and I found myself playing more and more PJM. I just really liked the game. Sometimes I’d stay up all night on the weekends playing it. It was always, “Just one more level…”
http://sarcasticgamer.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/raise-your-hand.jpg
When I was finally forced to go to PJM Anonymous, I was living on a six pack of Redbull and beef jerky and nothing else. I had stopped showering and I hadn’t left my comfy gaming chair in weeks… It wasn’t really friends, or family that convinced me to seek help, it was sitting in my own stink. Yes it got that bad.

So far, PJM Anonymous has helped me tremendously. I’ve stopped erecting turrets in the trees around my house. I’ve even sold off my gold coin collection and given away all of my turtles, even Ted. Sorry Ted. They’ve given me something called a PJM Patch that’s supposed to get me to stop playing, but all I feel when I put it on is a yearning to play Call of Duty 4 and swear like a sailor. Fu*king weird.

They’ve also started me on a 10 step program that, hopefully, will safely and effectively, ween me off PJM for good. I’m only on step three, which is apologizing to all of my friends on PSN for not responding to their messages for over a month.

The only problem? I don’t want to quit. Maybe I’m not ready to quit. Sure, I can stop putting flame throwers on my property, but that doesn’t mean that I’m gonna remove my anti-air turret from my roof. You just never know. Can’t I just be a functioning addict?

I mean, isn’t that what my PSP’s remote play is for?

Well Lono, the first step is coming forth and admitting it. You're coming along in getting over your addiction. Now, this addiction, like all other addictions, can snowball on you and turn you into that guy in Transpotting that sold all his furniture and earthy possessions for a fix (that's right ladies and germs, he's comparing PJM to herione!).
So you really want to become THAT guy? You're halway there, you know you are... Why, think of the sacrifices you've made for this game! (please, someone, THINK OF THE TURTLES!) Although, I wouldn't break any bones trying to get those flamethrowers back. Not when a lighter and a can of deodorant can give the same effect and sense of coolness when you flame your own toast instead of using a toaster.
Though, I shall admit, you do seem to be making progress in weening your way off of PJM. Heck, you've already gotten to the stage where you're questioning your actions, meaning that the choice to quit's been given serious thought and consideration, and not just been a spur-of-the-moment action. Stay strong, and when you finally DO quit, go back on.
As a reward.
Because, let's face it.
You earned it.

Update: rofl. that is all.

Great Article Lono, very funny.

I bought PJM a couple of days ago, it's very addictive just like Desktop Tower Defense, once you start playing it's hard to stop.

Great article Lono.
One question though. Would you recommend it to me and others, knowing that you got addicted to it so much that you abandoned your 360 to play it? Is it worth getting?

SARCASM > TRUTH!!!!!

PLEASE MAKE THIS MY CUSTOM TITLE BECAUSE I HAVE EXPLAINED THIS TOO MUCH!!! THIS IS A SARCASTIC GAMER FORUM... IT IS THE MOTTO.... YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR WEBSITE'S MOTTO IS DON'T YOU? I AM VERY SORRY IF I COME ACROSS AS BLUNT BUT I AM SURPRISED THAT PEOPLE DO NOT GET THIS.

Adrian, you should notice sarcasm. You are the kind of "master" of sarcasm on the podcast and forums...that was a rookie mistake...

I suppose my sarcasm is a bit hard to notice though...but then again that kinda is the point of sarcasm if you are using slightly discreet sarcasm...

EDIT: I did mean the great article bit. Don't worry. It was. I forgot to leave a space between the great article bit, and the sarcastic questions...

Your only worthy of a title if you do something which people will reconise you for, or for saying something extremely stupid.
I remember mine started by me saying 'I wonder what mine would be?' then Doc answered that question for me. haha.

Are you saying you are worthy of the SG motto as your custom title?

I may be worth it. Especially if I contribute a lot. I have some articles up coming, including one worthy of a Fiction Friday place on the front page... big, big claim.

Proposition then. If I were to do one minute of uninterrupted airtime of why my custom title should be the sarcastic gamer motto, and contribute an article worthy of being on the front page, can I get the motto as my custom title? Moderators and Admin, take note.

(Bet i get a stupid custom title. Damn my ignorance and idiocy!)

?????? You sound disgruntled...

EDIT: Oh, wait. I got it. Just, please don't make my custom title Cap'n Spam. I'm going to hide away for a few days now. I've dug myself a massive hole and it is only getting bigger...

I would like to apologise for my outbursts last night. I was venting frustration because of my football's team loss and drop in the table. Arsenal are now third, we haven't won a league game in 5 games, and we are slipping. The loss was only the second loss of the season, and I took it very hard. It may have ruined our chances at winning the league this season, and we were clear leaders at one point a few months ago.

I have acted rashly, and have maybe taken things too far because of my anger... I am a die-hard Arsenal fan, and the loss had a big effect on me, as I am sure it has with other Arsenal fans also. I apologise for my actions, and I have no-one to blame but myself. I will clean up my act, and put this behind me. Not much gets to me at all, but I was tired, frustrated and very edgy. I apologise sincerely, especially to Lono, Regua, Viatrophy, and anyone else who may have been affected by me... Lono especially even more so. My comments were uncalled for and not deserved. You simply did not understand my angle. I am very, very sorry and I deeply respect you and your opinions... Any Arsenal fans, feel free to mourn with me... Balaamsafe, any laughing and I will be forced to hurt you...

Sorry to everyone.

Yeah... Try being a Leeds fan. It helps when it comes to coping with loss.

Um, no.

Ya no joke man. Whenever I see codinthepocket's posts I always think the he is never gonna get to 6000 before Lono so give it a rest. And the only people deserving of the motto for a custom title is the people who founded and/or work for the site (i.e. Lono, Doc, Fergie Ferg:grin:). Definitely not you.

P.S. I'm not trying to be mean though.

Fergie Ferg:grin:

 I forgot about that. Do you think that Fergie-Ferg's, or FFF's now, username will change to that for the next two weeks?

EDIT:

Yeah... Try being a Leeds fan. It helps when it comes to coping with loss.

Leeds have done well this season. Leeds had 15 points deducted from them at the start of the season. Top half of the table. Unbeaten for a lot of games. Winning streak. It has surprisingly been a good season for them. If you had said last season, then it would have put it into perspective.

EDIT:

Um, Ok? Apology accepted...
Thanks Lono (Adrian. still can't believe I did that. Lol.) Btw, I wanted to ask, where does the name Cherikos come from? It sounds Greek but i am probably wrong. I'm just curious.
