Like the 20 million or so Americans in 2006, I was on cloud 9 choosing the Nintendo Wii for my future console: downloadable previous gen games, motion control, and of course, the sweet embrace of a new link game which was going to be another 28 days to play on the older cube. *We were wed under the yellow hue of the best buy sticker and eloped to a beautiful half book shelf/ entertainment center were we flailed our arms happily ever after...

Its now June, and I find myself in the arms of another console, promising to call and be "friends" with my wiiloveled.

What I'm trying to portray is my sadness that despite all the bells, whistles, and other sounds the menus make, there just isn't anything to do on the Wii. *Here’s my track record:

Twilight princess: great game, “just swing wildly, cause they lied to you about how you'd get to control his sword and shield”
Rayman: some good games, way better than the Wario’s anyway, makes me want to REALLY strangle those bunnies, “did they even play test these games for difficulty”
Second opinion: I guess I should have gone with the first opinion, “I'd rather watch the surgery channel, they show boobs ya know?”
Paper Mario: I liked it, “70% searching commands, 19% menu pausing from one character to the next, 11% kill a guy, repeat”
Red steel: “honestly, get golden eye, its got better graphics in multiplayer”
DBZ tenkichi 2: “oh man, you may as well train your own body to shoot a kamehameha, cause that remote isn’t gonna let you.”
Sports & play: “good lord, is the area I can move my arms smaller than the remote?!?!? *Stupid game, I'll show you! *I'll play it for real...without you...or friends...of hey gears of war; Buddy!!”

The point is that the Wii seems to be all hype and no muscle right now and has been since January. *I haven't played everything out there, but every game has been a reminder of other older games I'd rather play. *Great, I can point at a narrower-than-the size-of-my-19inch-TV, while flicking in some direction what you got to do that with? *Zelda and....

P.S. ocarina of time at game stop $6.00, Wii points $25.00 actual quote "That's just how the exchange rate works from USD to YEN"

Nice post and Ill have to agree. I would have to say the Wii would have to be the most impulsive thing I every brought. I had $250 and and my local Wal-Mart had a new shipment. Now 5 months later a find it just sitting there next the 360 not doing nothing.

Yeah I agree. Im starting to feel my wii would be better off on ebay. Aint tiddly-winks worth playing.
Even my old XBox (don´t have 360 yet - c´mon die shrink!) is getting more of a work out.

Appreciate the comments, and to be fair, I still will play future games, though I honestly hate the "sleeper cell" gamer style it forces on me. Maybe a new game comes along in a month I'd be willing to 'throw bows' for, take super paper mario as and example, which I tackled upon with the iron fury reserved for those allusive homerun balls flung 3 rows below you. (hospitalized fans heal, but balls are forever!) The game you play and go, "hell, this game made smashing my tv with the controller worth it." Alas, immortatility is hard won.

I'm playing heat seeker now, its more simplistic that ace combat, and cause the field of movement for the controller is still smaller than a subway sandwich, I end up loosing the steering hud icon, and rocketing my virtual fighter into his virtual watery grave; my prayers go out to his virtual widow :'(, who will hear only that he decopiled without suffering, fighting the gravest of foes: terrorist yacht boats.

You forgot Persona 3... which FINALLY sold me on getting the console, btw (or rather stealing my brothers since he's done with it)... but anyway...

God of War II - didnt want it. Im not an ancient Greek fan by any means.
Final Fantasy X - You haven't heard of my aversion to Final Fantasy until about last year, have you? This would NEVER have sold me.
GTA San Andreas - 1) I wasn't interested in any GTA outside of Vice City, and 2) even if I was, I have a PC... I knew it was coming while I played everything else in my library.
Shadow of the Colossus - Honestly, this game screams to me the perfect game for me to watch. I wasn't interested in playing it, but it was breathtaking to see, Ill give you that.
Splinter Cell 3 - 1) I dont do Tom Clancy. 2) I dont do FPS style controls with analog sticks. 3) PC version existed too.
Persona 4 - had one for this series.... well, stole my brother's... one of that handful I mentioned before, along with Persona 3.
Soul Caliber 3 - I don't do fighters aside from Virtual On.
MGS2 - Aversion to the series much like Final Fantasy (NES ruined a few series for me, didn't it?)
MGS3 - see above
GTA3 - Didn't care about this one.
GTA Vice City - On the PC
Devil May Cry 3 - On the PC, but I genuinely did not care about this set.

Super Mario Galaxy - I liked it, but it wasn't "all that" to me. It was fun, though.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Fun game, still is now
Zelda: Twilight Princess - Good game... first one I completed on the system...

Now let's add to the system games you missed:

Metroid Prime 3 - THIS is what console FPS should feel like and why I will get FPS control style games on the Wii
Conduit - See above X10
World of Goo - yeah, it's on PC, but I have both so I can choose. Wii wins based on price ($5 less) and multiplayer capabilities.
Megaman 9 - How can you argue against this one?
Super Paper Mario - Tribute to the old style ones... gotta love it.
And believe it or not, Dragon Quest Swords, One Piece Unlimited Adventure, Zack & Wikki, and even Harvey Birdman are all damn fun, too......

And btw, Im only going through a PART of my library...

Actually, concidering Ive been arguing which one is better for me, I already won by default. Im not arguing in total. Im just letting him try to change my mind personally... try being a very key word here. (This is why PC factors into this as much as it does.)

1) Basically I called you a troll. Im standing by it.
2) No genre is console exclusive, nor did you list every game of any one genre.
3) Not everyone is going to like every game. Simple fact of being individuals. Im not part of your hive mind... accept it or behave like a fanboy. It's really your choice.

Now I gotta run... gym calls before I go play with FF7 (I finally gave the series another shot... something you could probably learn from), and hookup my Wii to my new TV in preparation of seriously settling to destroy Conduit when I finish this one.
