Sometimes video game trailers give us all an intriguing glimpse of great things to come. Sometimes the ONLY good thing about a title was the trailer. However, it is fun sometimes to ignore your inner cynic and just enjoy the show. While searching for videos to watch as I ate my breakfast this morning, I came across a few trailers that really blew me away.

Armored Core: For Answer
The 5th-ish installment of the Armored Core series just came out in Japan and one can only hope it will make its way to North America soon. Once again, it's time to jump into a giant robot and battle it out. Honestly, who doesn't want to carry a gun the size of a car?
This trailer doesn't show one lick of gameplay, but it sure does look fantastic, despite the game's stupid title.

Iron Man

The new Iron Man film tie-in game is set to hit shelves on May 2nd. The simple fact that both the movie and game look awesome so far is great, but we've all been lied to before. (hello Spiderman 3). Despite my best efforts, I am starting to fall for the hype. Damn, I just can't get enough Black Sabbath.
If you don't think this trailer shows off Iron Man at his video game best, there's something wrong with you.

The Bourne Conspiracy

Another video game born of a movie franchise, The Bourne Conspiracy won't hit store shelves until the 3rd of June. From what I have seen so far, it looks like we may have another good tie-in game on our hands. I'm sure not having to match a movie release date helped them immensely.
This trailer really shows off just how hard developers have worked to make the game mirror all the great things about the films.

Grand Theft Auto IV

Now, this is a title I think every gamer with a pulse already knows about. April 29th is fast approaching and GTA IV videos abound. This may not be the coolest, or best looking trailer for the game so far, but it is definitely the funniest.

Prototype

Due out sometime in Q3 '08, Prototype is definitely among my most anticipated titles. Radical Entertainment is showing off a lot of what they learned making the last Hulk game, which was really good. We can only hope Activision Blizzard's recent shenanigans won't hurt Sierra when it comes to getting this title into gamer hands, asap.
Everything about this trailer screams cool.

There you go, PMPB's top trailers of 2008. I'm looking forward to all of these great games. Some, like GTA IV and Prototype seem pretty likely to live up to "most" of the hype. As far as Iron Man and The Bourne Conspiracy go, only time will tell.

the armored core trailer is awesome...

honestly some of the best trailers i have ever seen. especially the armored core and GTA 4 trailers

The Prototype trailer gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

How can anyone get hyped for a movie based game? Seriously. The other GTA4 trailers have been disappointing, but this one made the grade on humor alone. Not that any of this matters, I'll buy it, it'll sell like gangbusters, end of story.

I've never played any of them and I don't really care about it, but Armored Core intrigues me. I'm kind of a sucker for trailers though...I've been dooped quite a few times in my day.

Also, Prototype looks really cool. Looks like a combination of Assassin's Creed and Crackdown, with a little bit of Darkness thrown in.

Never seen that GTA IV trailer before, very funny.
