Can't remember if i posted this on this forum a few months back or if it was on a different one but i remember playing an old arcade game back in the day and can't for the life of me remember what it was.

We're going back to about 1990-1992 ish. It was a two player game, you sat in a mock-up mine cart. You had crosshairs on the screen and it was a sort of on rails operation wolf style shooter with the mine cart being hydraulic. From what i recall it wasn't polygonal like Virtua Cop, i remember it being sprite based ala Space Harrier or Afterburner. I keep thinking it was a Sega game but i'm not too sure.

Any ideas anyone?

Was it a light gun game or standard joystick/button setup?

What was the game like, was it futuristic or set more in the old west?

As far as I can remember, I don't recall ever seeing an arcade machine shooter that had the cross hairs on the screen unless it was a simulator type like T-Mek or Tokyo Tank Battle.

What was the objective of it?

Need more info, but based on what you said the closest I could come up with is Lethal Enforcers II, but that's past the 90's threshhold.

I can't remember if it had guns or if it was joysticks. But it was an into the screen scrolling shooter, set in like an Indiana Jones style setting, but it wasn't Indiana Jones.

Me and my girlfriend played it to completion in the arcades here in the UK around 1990-1992 period (as that's when i was dating this particular girl). It's that long ago i can't even remember if the minecart you sat in was hydraulic or not.

Found it guys, it was a Sega game in 1991 and it was called Rail Chase and ran on the Y board. Here's a link to the cabinet.

And here's some screenshot links

Ahh, i'm so pleased i know that now. Gonna have to see if mame can run it and track it down just for pure nostalgia factor. It's probably completely rubbish now lol.
