View Full Version : Is Your Hdd Full?
gliff159 04-13-2008, 11:02 PM So i was reading game informer and came across an article Spaces are Filling Fast(p21) and it got me to wondering. Is anyone's hdd full? i mena i know you can just get a larger one like a 100GB or a 300GB off the internet no problem but the average person wouldn't.
looking at the numbers and times its downright confusing Devil may cry is a 4.7Gb install but takes 20 min while hotshots is 5Gb takes 5 min? what is up with that?
NoneOfYourBusiness 04-13-2008, 11:12 PM I thought the maximum size HDD that the PS3 will currently take is the 250GB internal HDD. Did they make a 300GB Internal?
Anyway, I ahve the 60 Gig and it is about half full. Even if it does get full, I can just transfer the data to a larger drive or even and external drive.
emonerd826 04-13-2008, 11:15 PM With a 40GB, not yet. lol.
darkwonders 04-13-2008, 11:37 PM I usually have around 10 left.... I delete old trailers.
Don't really put much more music on it. Though I should probably clean up the music that's my brothers... because I don't listen to a lot of the stuff he does...
Sinfulfate 04-14-2008, 12:03 AM I have about 20gbs or so. I dont have much on my PS3 but I have a small chunk of the harddrive space partitioned for linux's use.
Torreyjs 04-14-2008, 03:23 AM I put a 100gb drive in mine

Emophia 04-14-2008, 07:28 AM 60 gig normal, have 20 or so gigs free, with music, DMC4, movies and demos, it should be enough.

Millakilla 04-14-2008, 08:31 AM 40GB with 12 Gb left. Got a season of simpsons, a season of futurama, a season of my name is earl, Some movie trailers/game trailers, DMC4 and a little music on it, But after just realising i can transfer songs straight from my ipod to it i should fill it all up soon...

chris24680 04-14-2008, 12:27 PM 60gb with about 40 left im thinking of upgrading to a bigger drive though
mrpuggywuggy 04-14-2008, 01:24 PM I upgraded my 60 gb HDD to a Seagate Momentus 160 gb.
I put most of my music collection onto the HDD, I have downloaded a lot of demo's and trailers plus a few psn games, and I still have a lot of space left on the HDD.

codinthepocket 04-14-2008, 04:03 PM I have a 60GB PS3, but just under 10GB left...
I have both seasons of Heroes in HD, and the first 3 seasons of Scrubs in Quicktime format.
Season 1 of Heroes is a whopping 13GB itself...
Plus, I have the incredibly large 6GB game date utility for GT5: Prologue. 6GB!:shocked:
Couldn't believe it was that much. Dread to think what GT5 will be...

PopTrogdor 04-15-2008, 06:15 AM i have ALOT of space, as i generally delete anything i am not using, which means if i dont like a song any more, its bye bye, trailers come and go very quickly, as do demo's
EDIT: 34GB of 60GB left, deleted old game utility data of games i dont own, and wont own again
prcrew10 04-15-2008, 08:00 PM I have 50 of 80 left. I use space for games, and lots of demos and music. I just get rid of old stuff when im never playin it anymore.

I'm watching it now. It is very strange because I am watching the show in HD format on an SD TV. I can notice the difference which is quite confusing... I have watched it in HD before and you're right, it looks incredible...
Millakilla 04-17-2008, 03:46 PM I think i will delete all my Videos/ Music off my ps3 now because ive set up TwonkyVision(media Server) On my pc so i can just watch/listen to all the stuff i have on my pc wirelessly now:D
61 of 80... but actually the 80 gig ps3 its like 64 gig.
Anyone know how much is a memory of 300 gig or 400 or 500 or 750????... just wondering
smon jiff 04-17-2008, 07:26 PM Is there some better way of sorting music on your ps3 other than the xmb or do people just put up with it and scroll through huge lists as a sort of hobby?
I had about 200 albums on mine and it was a bit of a task going through them to find what i wanted to listen to...

You can make folders and separate them...
Genre is quite handy. Album sort is good, but artist is the best...
You can separate the files easily and the artists you want to listen to are easy to find... Just press square and try out the different sort methods...
