I just bought a messenger pad for for my xbox, it work really good and im pretty happy with it but for some reason when i plug my standard 360 headset in the bottom of the messenger pad, it wont work at all, I wont get the little click or anything at all. If i take the pad of an plug the mic in, it works fine. The batteries are full and Ive tried it with 2 controllers and it dosent work.

they gave me a head set in the messenger kit to and it work either thought dosent

It may be a malfunction with the messenger unit itself. If you can find a cell phone headset to try, it wouldn't hurt to try another headset and see if that works or not. Otherwise, you may need to call Microsoft and have it replaced.

The messenger microphone is the same as the regular one, both fit in the controller and work fine.

Actually it will, just not as well. For the USB keyboard, at least for me, I've had to go back into the guide to chat with my messenger buddies. From my understanding, the Messenger pad has a button to pull up a window right over the game you're playing.

I just tried it at my friends house it seems to work well enough for general messages.
