Halo3 maps are up. Post your thoughts. I'll post mine when they finish downloading and I get to play them.

Hmm I guess Bnet doesn't intend to add them to the playlist for a bit. I played dlc slayer for an hour and never saw the new maps. I did however play them by my self and the look pretty cool.
Blackout has a few added niches for shotgun/sword campers and Ghost town looks like fun, Avalanche is most likely going to bo a BTB exclusive

Ok my review.

Blackout 9/10

Never played the original but this is a great map. Fast paced with lots of angles for shots and jumps, best suited for Slayer matches I imagine. Some people said this would be too much like Guardian, they were wrong.

Ghost Town 9/10

Great graphics and a map that has a lot of different levels and areas. I had a feeling this would be the sleeper hit of the pack with all the hype that was focused on the other two, I haven't been disappointed.

Avalanche 9/10

Another good job by Bungie's art department. It's a lot easier to get around by foot now. Launching vehicles through the massive Man Cannons is a lot of fun. Only played slayer on this so far as the DLC hopper hasn't been updated yet, BTB will be fun.

Overall

Much better then the Heroic Pack. I found that each of the maps had their own personalties, while Heroic was kinda bland. Defiantly worth the points.

EDIT: I apparently am awesome at Blackout. It's as if I'd been there already...:lol:

I wasn't going to buy them, but I am absolutely drooling over Ninja Gaiden 2 and since Circuit City is giving the maps away with a NG2 preorder...

I'll be playing me some new age lockout within the week.

avalanche is the best, I already built 3 robots in it and drew a picture with guns, it's so fun to forge.

blackout, needs some forging, and then it will be great for zombies

ghost town is terrible, but some people like it, some people also like using tacks for toilet paper, but normal people won't find the appeal in it.

black out is awesome! 10/10 I was a big fan of lockout in halo 2 and it was my favorite map. The others are good to but nothing beats blackout.

They released the maps in the wee hours of the morning to let the people who check the DLCs daily get it and then they annonced it on the bungie site around noon to let them get and then they added it to the dashboard ads around 3 o' clock.

I think thats why it did not bog any thing up.

yes, all Halo maps go free within about 2-3 weeks before the next new maps.
