Hi all. I updated last night, expecting the playstation store to be fully functioning and happy, but lo as I held my breath an error message did appear on screen:

An error has occurred: 80023101.

What is this, this cannot be right I thought, so I tried again and again, but to no avail.

All I get is the icon that looks like the system update icon in the top of the left hand side navigation menu and this error message, also the warhawk and other pictures download behind this error message so I am unsure of what the problem might be.

I have tried googling it but I can't find any really good solutions, I have turned off my router and left it without power for several minutes, I have tried changing my account details (re-entering them), I have tried cleaning the cache of the web browser but none of this solves the solution.

Could someone please tell me if they are having this problem and if they know of any fixes?

I got this error once this morning, but I just exited out of it and never saw it again. :sad:

lol is this the fabled, and rather rare problem with the ps3, where a certain update is installed on a part of the machine which has become faulty and will therefore never work properly? If so, call sony liek now and ask them, i urge you

No I have not had this problem.

The only time I have seen an error message on my ps3 was while I was using the web browser, but that was a problem with my AOL broadband.

So the only advice I can give you is to call sony.

I googled that error code and a bunch of other people have gotten this error. I couldn't find a fix but try resetting your router or just wait. I doubt its a problem with your PS3. Its probably an error with the PSN store. Didn't it just get updated? Its bound to be giltchy on its first day.

That's the thing though, it's not the FIRST day, now it's more like the third day, it's getting beyond a joke, time to call Sony and see what they have to say, now I just have to find their phone number.
