I heard on Cranky Gaming that B:BC is only going to have ONE online multiplayer mode which is Gold rush. Has anyone else heard this before?

Yes I heard it. I heard it's a pretty sweet game (gold rush). I'm still not buying it though.

well if SG weren't into the boycott of this game i was thinkin about getting the game. but now with this news, assuming this is correct, i will never own this game. you might as well not even have an MP if you only have one mode. that is just ridiculous.

Um... i dont think you really got what that boycott was about...

It could be EA's new trademark on games, as seen on Army of Two.

Army of two has two multiplayer modes with the option of combining them to make a third, but, today the newest teaser trailer was released for Army of Two's first DLC, namely a fourth multiplayer mode.

Of course we'll have to pay for the privilege.*

Lame, Battlefield online is supposed to be all about Conquest.

Well the battlefield series historically has really only had one mode worth playing. Which was conquest. 2142 added Titan mode which was pretty cool but not as much fun as conquest in my opinion.

The main difference between Gold Rush and Conquest is that you have an attacker and a defender and have to hit the points in order. Wheras in Conquest you can hit the objective points in any order or all at the same time.

I think the main reason they have developed goldrush as a mode is to concentrate the action in a smaller area. Conquest works great on a pc with 64 players on each side. But with only 12 a side it would make for a less action packed game. Small maps with 16 a side worked pretty well in BF2 but that really was the bare minimum

Personally I am really digging gold rush and the clear Attacker / Defender breakdown of roles. Once there are some more maps it should provide plenty of variety.

This doesn't bother me that much, actually. I think MashedPenguin got it right.

to abucket i understood what the boycott was about. It was going to set a precedent to other developers to charge us for content that is on the disc, and charging us more for that content. that i understand. but i will say i was looking forward to the game pre boycott, and pre one MP mode news. but if what MashedPenguin said is tru, cuz i have not played a previous BF game, then that makes sense i think i am disappointed from playing the beta i was hoping more game modes were in store for us.
