I want to get both but I must see the combat in Fallout 3 first. Fable 2 is a must buy. Co-op is going to be sweet I hope they confirm online co-op in Fable 2 at E3.

Probobly Fallout. I never played the first Fable so I don't see any sense in getting the sequel.

I've never played Fallout 1 or 2, but I loved Fable 1, so Fable 2 is my pick.

Fable 2, I really enjoyed playing the first game on the xbox and I can't wait to play Fable 2.

I don't know a lot about Fallout 3, I did not play the first two games in the series, so I probably won't buy Fallout 3.

If I had to choose one it would be Fallout 3. But I don't have to choose one and will be picking both of them up.

They confirmed it at GDC. They even had a demo of how it would work.

Personally I am wanting to be getting both. the big question for me is Fable, or Gears of War 2

Both have fantastic games that came before them, so I may try to pick up both.

They confirmed online co-op? I know they said local co-op and they demoed that but when someone asked if it was online co-op they didn't answer =/

yeah i never played them either but the game looks amazing and it is made by the guys who made oblivion . I heard the games starts with the crowning of your birth. your veiw point is that of coming out a tunnel and then you get to chose what kind of person you want to be. Plus , you could make decisions in the game to destroy a town and that effects the whole game. With 500 different possible endings makes this game a must buy for me

Never played either, but I hate fantasy and love post-apoc, so I'll be getting Fallout without a doubt as long as it holds up as a shooter. (turn based RPGs need to all burn in the fires of hell) I might get Fable as long as it's EXTREMELY good.

I dont remember them saying in the exact words "you will play this game online" but I do remember them heavily implying it. When Peter Molyneux had his wife shoy he did say "you shouldn't just let anyone from your friends list on to play". and a few other things, the really arrogant sounding presenter guy was all up on it like "OMG OMG isnt this teh awesomeness'd brilliant, that you can play online"

They have quite clearly said that there is two player online coop. With drop in/out functionality.

The be careful who you play with bit was because your friend can screw up your world for you (killing characters off etc). Which has a permanent effect on your world. They also said that the guest character earns experience, gold etc that they can take back to their world.

I will definitely be buying Fable 2 when it comes out. I played the first Fable and I really loved it. I spent many a late night trying to decapitate villagers with my friends. Cant wait to play it. :)

I never played the preceding games for either series, but everything I hear about Fallout 3 just sounds so cool. I'm really looking forward to checking it out. Fable 2, however, I'm not all that interested in. Don't really know all that much about it I guess. In all likelihood I may not buy either since I'm not much for RPG's, and couldn't even really get into Oblivion that much.

I thought the first Fable was a bit crap really, it really did nothing for me but if I see some improvement I'll probably pick it up.

Fallout 3 though I'm getting the limited edition for with the bobblehead. I loved Oblivion and everything I heard about Fallout makes me want the game.

I agree with Butters, Fallout looks much superior to me, in terms of setting at least, than Fable 2.

[facepalm]
I was talking about this sort of thing on the Pandemic Studios boards... New players won't have a clue what this game (Fallout, for reference) is, or the history behind it...

Anyway, I'll likely get both, but I'm hoping for Fallout 3 to be extra special. I'm talking about 'better than Fallout 2' special. Because, if/when it isn't, I'm going to get a cheap 20GB HDD, buy some of the outrageously priced DLC for TES IV, and shove said HDD up Todd Howard's (or Pete Hines, depending on who I randomly encounter first) hind quarters.

Gonna get both ... but if I had a gun ta mah head and had ta pick only one, it'd have ta be Fable.

2 is shaping up to meet all the promises they made for the first one! And those were some pretty outlandish promises! :w00t:

I'm gonna get both but if I had to choose one or the other I would get Fallout 3 without a doubt. I love Bethesda and while the first Fable was a fun game I think that Fallout 3 will be the better game.

I was excited when I started hearing about Fallout 3, but looking back on the previous Fallouts, they were nothing like the Elder Scroll series.. That worries me. Everyone is talking about Fallout 3 being Oblivion in a Post-Apocalyptic world.. but the previous entries in the series point it towards something completely different, something I may not want to play.

As for the Fable 2 online debate, it has not been confirmed that Fable 2 will have online co-op. Not once during the Fable presentation did Peter mention the words "online" or "friends list" he may have implied that there will be online co-op, but it seemed like he didn't want to promise something that may not be delivered. Fable anyone? Expect online co-op, but don't get your hopes up for it, or you may be disappointed.

lol, by the time you figure out you don't want to play on it you will have dropped $60 on it though so you are going to have to enjoy it. You know its gonna be good, its Bathesda...

For the Fable2 thing; you are right, I just re-watched it and he doesn't even hint that its going to be online. I hadn't even thought that it might be local, which is odd because they were obviously playing from the same xbox. I cant wait to play this with my brother now!

^^^: Fallout 3 may be good, but it may also turn out to be what Fallout fans pre-acquisition thought was going to happen: Oblivion with Guns. Even if you think that sounds like fun, go play the first two Fallout games, then try the BoS spinoff that was on console. You'll find out why deviating from a good formula too much is a very bad thing.

In PC Format this month there was an interview with Bathesda, when asked about people thinking it was going to be Oblivion with guns he retorted;

"You can't avoid seeing it, but at the same time its expected. We've gotten it over the years from our Elder Scrolls fans too, as we really like to change things up with each game. The difference is that Fallout fans have been starving in the desert for ten years, waiting for another game, so they're really passionate, and I think thats a good thing. They [fallout fans] keep us on their toes and we know we have a lot to live up to"

I think they know that people dont just want oblivion with some guns in it,

Wait one of those looks strangely familiar...

I've also heard that Fallout 3 really has nothing to do with the other 2 Fallouts, it just bears the name. Ya know like Shadowrun except not crappy:lol:
